Ha, I actually have no idea! Don’t even remember which one it was. I only saw it because the vet was examining him and I was on the other side of the table so I saw the underside of his paw but his was much more red than your buns’. I was alarmed because thought it was inflamed but I didn’t have a reference point. The vet did say that digit…[Read more]

Bunnies will naturally develop wear spots on their feet over time. We often think of their back feet (hocks), but you can end up with exposed front paw pads as well. They will often develop a callous in these areas. As long as it isn’t inflamed, red, cracking, bleeding, etc. then it isn’t anything to be too concerned about. You can change up their…[Read more]

Are they actually different from the others or just that you notice the two?
Reason I ask is because I noticed one on one of my buns before and asked my vet, who said it wasn’t an issue. They are normally like that but usually their fur just covers it so one doesn’t notice it. In my case, thinning fur wasn’t an issue as it was an elder bun. May…[Read more]

I couldn’t pin the cage image for a reason, but it’s about 1,5 m X 1,5 M, the “roof” of it is covered by tiles and spaces were she can rest her foot. It has two bottle of water, a bathroom separated and a hay space! It’s were i place her while i’m sleeping or had to go out of the house for hours.

Hi everyone! I have a two years old lop bunny called Misso and, recently, while grooming her fur, i noticed that two beans (cushions) of her front paw were kinda red and felt a bit rough by the touch.
By the day, she spent it free roaming my room and at night, she spent it in that cage i pinned (ps: i only put her there because i wouldn’t be able…[Read more]

Thanks!
I have used some just in my room and left the rest of the house clear, I reapply every couple days then will likely stop completely in a few weeks when the season ends… For a year anyway.

It does sound the same as what happened to one of your buns! She also had to stay in overnight and Glenn stayed with her at the hospital overnight, I do think he helped her! She actually chewed through her IV after a little while so they switched to frequent subq fluids or something similar.
Oooh a potpourri bowl sound like a great idea! Would…[Read more]

It does sound like a partial blockage near where the stomach connects to the intestine. That’s the most common location for a partial blockage. (One of my buns had that. Vet treated with spasmolytics and iv fluids and pain meds. He had to stay over at the animal hospital).
With a partial blockage like that, the body will pull fluids into the…[Read more]

I still haven’t really found the cause, some signs are pointing to stress (she’s sensitive to even minor things that wouldn’t really bother other buns too much) and fur ingestion, she has long hair and does all the grooming for herself and Glenn (we do trim her) . I may just have to except that sometimes it’s just unclear what causes it, it’s just…[Read more]

Thank you for your response! She’s been munching on Oxbow hay and even completely chewed, ate, and swallowed a whole willow stick without leaving crumbs but just won’t have it with her regular hay. I ordered her a new batch so hopefully it’s just that 🙁 I don’t mind throwing stuff out , just want her to eat normally. Also ordered her a sampler…[Read more]

So she won’t eat any hay? Or just THIS hay? Usually when a bunny stops eating hay (but may still eat other things), we assume some kind of dental issue. Your vet may have said her teeth looked “perfect”, but it’s really hard to tell if they don’t do a thorough exam. That being said, sometimes bunnies will snub a particular batch of hay for…[Read more]

Hi! I recently ordered some airtight boxes for my hay from chewy.com! They have a lot of different sizes and they have wheels so you can roll them around. I don’t know what country your in, so I don’t know which ones would ship to you but there are quite a few options and a lot of good sizes for pretty cheap.
I got one for hay and one for pellets…[Read more]

Eclipse has always been a big hay eater, she loves eating it 24/7. I always order 3rd cutting from Small Pet Select, or sometimes their premium soft version and she loves both types. However, since I got last week’s shipment she has stopped touching it. I’ve gone completely pellet-free for her diet as per her vet’s suggestion, I supplement her hay…[Read more]

The recommended dosage of Imidacloprid is 3mg/kg. Advantage II also contains Moxidectin, which can be used safely on rabbits. Keep in mind that Imidacloprid is not effective against certain types of mites so you may need to get a proper identification made by a vet.

My bunnies have been under anethesia a total of about 3 or 4 time each I think for spaying/neutering and dental fillings over their lifetime including at the ages of 5/6. They have always bounced back well, one bounces back a lot quicker than the other typically. I have heard stories of some buns going in for dental multiple times a year!
Really…[Read more]

Unfortunately, some bunnies are just prone to gas episodes. It can be triggered by certain foods, stress, molting, you name it. And sometimes the owner is never able to pinpoint exactly what the cause is. I do remember you talking about Nellie’s gas episodes and I don’t remember you ever finding the exact cause. As for her stomach increasing in…[Read more]
