Hello!
Barring any of the serious possible health things leading to a stained bum that Bam mentioned, I wonder if it could be coming from his litter box? Sometimes buns just like to hang out in there, and white bunnies can occasionally have some discolored fur from it. You could try using some shredded paper bedding (the kind used for hamster…[Read more]

Has it been a long time since he was neutered? How old is he? Please tell us a little bit more about him!
Does he pee in “weird” spots, like outside his litterbox(es)? Small amounts of pee in many places? Have you seen him strain to pee or dribble pee a little here and there?
If he’s been neutered quite some time and he seems “incontinent” and…[Read more]

He’s neutered but still pees at random sometimes, he’s white and he gets pee stains on his bottom and he hates when I mess with it! I’ve never seen this before.

Cannoli 💚💚💚
I’m so sorry you had to let him go, Mia. I’m glad you know in your head it was the right choice and the best choice for him. Our hearts work a bit different though, but I think you will know it in your heart too, eventually. It is a very, very difficult decision to have to make, and I think we all second-guess ourselves for a period…[Read more]

In my head I know I had to make the decision. I have no doubt. The last day was difficult to watch.
My body still feels all kinds of wrong. I volunteer at an animal clinic with the surgical side of things. I also feel very wrong when I have to watch them put a kitty to sleep. That’s a stranger kitty; this was my baby.

I’m sorry Mia. You had been struggling with him for so long. I think one problem we have as humans is we keep second guessing ourselves with this sort of thing. There is a lot of inner turmoil and uncertainty as we watch our elderly buns (or any pet) grow old and decline. We look for signs that it’s time to let them go… and signs they might…[Read more]

I posted on reddit too but more details here.
Had to put Cannoli, 14+, to sleep early today. For better or worse, I’ve never had to make this decision before. Had many strong reasons why after a tough day but he showed such strength in his last moments that I deeply feel that I murdered him. Almost bailed at the emergency vet even with catheter…[Read more]

mia replied to the topic Myristol Serving for a Small Bun in the forum DIET & CARE 4 months, 3 weeks ago
With the scoop vs pellets, the instructions suck!
I just guesstimated and give my 2lb bun 2 average pellet or one long pellet. I feel like one cannot overdose with it if just giving 1-2 additional pellets.
I cannot say if it helps but I gave it along with medication, both meloxicam and gabapentin. I could only give is via mushing it in CC or similar.

I’m not familiar with Myristol. It was discussed in this thread a little bit: https://binkybunny.com/forums/topic/joint-support-arthritis-prevention/
As far as serving size, would this not be 0.6 grams (based on what you provided)? Half of a serving would be 0.75 grams.

Hello all,
My senior bunny (double digits) is still kicking even after a couple recent scares. 😯
His arthritis has just begun to show visibly this spring. It’s been a slow arrival of spring so cold, wet, and damp. He is an indoor bunny though.
Some days are worse than others obviously. Some days he is active like jumping onto the sofa and…[Read more]

Oh yes, that’d explain it! Wonder how long he was like that.

Blood rushing from lying on his back too long? That might explain the stumbling.

I woke up and found my old man completely silent (he normal now is noisey breathing) on his back, slightly curled, face was completely up, not moving at all under the heat lamp. Thought he passed in the cutest pose (kind of wished I took a pic in the mist of my panic). I immediately tried to right him and he had difficulty getting on his feet.…[Read more]

Darling Luna 🩷
I know she provided you so much joy and was a sweet companion for Apollo all the years. She certainly was a marvel with the things she came through.

Thank you so much to you both.
I was happy to make the decision and got a lot of peace from it, it was 100% her time to go and I was determined to make that as easy as possible for her.
It is extremely sad, I miss her, I feel sad for Apollo, but this has been a much easier loss than most of my other pets because we’ve been able to say goodbye…[Read more]

Oh Azerane, I’m so sorry. Luna was so beautiful. I agree with Bam. She had various health problems throughout her life, but she made it thanks to you. She was able to live a long life. You did a good job.

I’m so very sorry, Azerane.
Luna had a long and wonderful life with you and your husband and Apollo. She had many health problems, but pulled through thanks to you.
It’s heartbreaking to have to make the decicion, but if a bun gets a very long life, there comes a time when it’s the only good thing we can do to help. That is a blessing of sorts,…[Read more]

Yesterday evening we said goodbye to our beautiful girl, Luna. We were able to let her go with Apollo, myself and my husband by her side. She had started showing signs about a month ago of progressing in age related problems, but from Monday she started to deteriorate quite rapidly with mobility problems. When I arrived home from work on… - Load More
