  Hi, A friend of mine wants to know at what age can you start bonding buns. I didn’t know, and we couldn’t find any articles online. She has a 4 month old and a yr old bunny, and she wants to start bonding them, but isn’t sure if she should wait. Is it possible to start bonding when the baby is so little? The female is the yr old one and the male is the baby. They are both spayed/neutered.

  Both should be at least 1 month post-spay/-neuter, so if the male was neutered within the past month, it’s best to wait a couple more weeks.

  Thank you. It has only been about 3 weeks, so we will definitely wait until it has been at least a month.

  Agree, you can start doing pre-bonding now though if you want! That means side-by-side pens/cages and swap which bun is on which side every day or two (keep the litter boxes a bit dirty when you do this). 🙂

  Will do! The spaces between the bars of the pens are fairly large, and the girl has snapped at the baby before. Is there a good mesh on amazon or something that would help with that? We would put the cages a few inches apart, but they are connected by something we can’t undo…
