Me first! WOOHOO! I have 2 bunnies, Bonsai & Daffodil. : ) The joy of my heart and the pain in my arse. Bonsai is the momma’s boy and Daffodil couldn’t be more different, why she thinks she is the reincarnation of Cleopatra herself! I love them to pieces and while they have their moments I’ll never regret adopting these two “unwanted” bunnies from the House Rabbit Society.

      GREAT SITE!

Look like I’m 2nd in line, but I’ll dance too! Just found this site. Very Cool!

I have one bunny, his name is Snooks. He’s an orangy/brown mini-rex. Very sweet and affectionate. I call him my Snookem’s, that’s why I named him Snooks. I was actually thinking of getting him a friend, but I’m not sure if I can take on two bunnies! Seems like it would be a lot of work. I am already having to keep after Snooks as he likes to get into everything.

But you got a love ’em! They’re just so cute.

Hello!   Great site!   I love the pictures of binkies in the gallery.  How the heck do people do that?  Mine are always blurry, and that’s if I’m lucky enough to even spot it in time in the first place.  Usually my pictures are of a blurry foot leaving the shot. LOL!

I have one bunny named Lucy.   She’s a new breed, called Thrianta  Very very orange. Like a litte ball of fire.  She’s just a baby now only 12 weeks old.   She’s just loves to race around the house like it’s a race course.   It’s so funny to watch.   I’ve had rabbits before, but they were always adults, so I decided to take on a baby rabbit.  Quite messy, I’m still working on littertraining

Howdy!  I love the gallery section too.  We’ve got some great pictures to add.

We’ve got two heinz 57 rabbits.   A white sort of lopish rexish mix named Jewel, whose very bossy with her stuff, but extremely affectionate, and curious but cautious brown bunny named Dibs.

My son and I were going to a shelter to find a kitten, when we passed by some rabbits out in pens.  Jewels an Dibs were out their playing.  Dancing and hopping.  I never thought about rabbits as a house pet then, but their antics started luring us in.  They cracked us up, and we thought those two would be perfect for us two, and we completely forgot about getting a kitten.  We wanted dibs on the two bunnies.   Hence, the name Dibs.

The shelter helped get us prepared and soon Jewels and Dibs were part of the family.

Welcome Lucy!  I’ve seen a Thrianta.  They are pretty!  If your little gal is too fast for a camera flash, then just send us a cute picture of her.   We’ll put it in the “Funny Faces”

The binkies are hard to catch.  Check out the Photo Tips section.  There is even an area addressing binkies.

Also, if you get a cute closeup, you can make that your avatar if you want.

That’s funny that you originally wanted a cat.  I wanted a cat too, but I found out that I was allergic. Ia never thought of myself as a rabbit person, but I remembered hearing about house rabbits, and how they can be littertrained etc.   So I researched learned more, then went to my local rabbit rescue, and adopted Bugsy!   Now I am soo glad it turned out this way.  I LOVE rabbits.  They are such cool pets!  So cute and funny.

I have a brown agouti netherland dwarf. He’s barely two pounds. Maybe that’s why he’s such a scaredy cat. He’s actually really sweet, but he hasn’t really come out of his shell yet. I’d love to find out how to make him understand that we’re not going to hurt him. I rescued him, and he was a classroom rabbit, who I guess hated being a classroom rabbit, cuz he charged and bit the kids. (at least that is what his history states)

So we have let him be and get used to a more calm household, and he’s really happy, doing binkies and flopping, but he’s still very shy of our approach. I am hoping this will just get better in time with trust

Hi everyone! I just posted a ton of details and stuff in my profile bio – but here are the basics….

I have three bunnies who are all rescues. I’m a volunteer with The Rabbit Haven here in Santa Cruz.

Hareiette is a 2 year old dutch bunny with half blue and half brown eyes. She has a very distinctively strong personality and is very clever. It’s Hareiette’s way or the highway, and she wants to make sure everyone knows that princesses don’t live with heathens like Viktor.

Pandora, 1 (steel grey dutch – aka Dori) has classic middle child syndrome. She’s often shy and skiddish, but is a very sweet and loving bunny if you put in the time to earn her trust.

Viktor , 8 months (black bunny) He is the comedian, he is into EVERYTHING. He loves people, is a real piglet and is a lot of fun to watch. His sun rises and sets on his very pretty bunnywife Pandora.

Welcome Gravehearted!!!! It’s wonderful to have a
rabbit savvy member aboard.  Now your added into the drawing twice.
      Good Luck!

It’s also great to have another trio on board.
Your Hareiette sounds like my Rucy.  She isn’t quite a princess, more
like hmmmm….army chick or tomb raider.   She’s bossy in a no nonsense
sort of way.     She loves her goofy Jack, and though she’s more
serious, his playful ways bring out her more silly side with binkies
      and speedracer games.

Hope I have posted in the right spot here. Anyways I am a bit late for the dance, looks like I am last on the list LOL.

This place is full of great information and I just love the pics of your bunnies. Great stories too.

      I have two female bunnies:

Sprinkles : She is about 3 years old, English Shop … mad as a hatter, full of love, very affectionate, will do anything for attention, bit of a messy bunny around the house (but getting better), great personality, lovely natured bun, loves her Mum, very demanding at times, crazy as, loves carpet digging and chewing.

Lily: Lily is about 6 months old, Dwarf Butterfly Lop … cute as, loves sitting in Sprinkles’ littertray feasting, racing around and through the blinds, bit skittish, loves sitting my Mum’s lap, playtime is always fun.

      Hi everyone!
We’re kind of new at this house rabbit thing.  My husband had a house bunny when he was a child and I had bunnies that lived outside.  We thought that we should try a different kind of pet since losing our cat to old age at the beginning of February (she was 19).  Our first thought was actually to get a chinchilla so we went to the pet store to check them out.  Right across from the chinchillas was a cage with this Netherland Dwarf bunny and it was love at first sight.

We are hoping that he can become trustworthy enough to be given more run in the house.  Right now he’s so little that he’s getting plenty of exercise in the playpen we set up for him.  He’s doing lots of binkies and so far seems to enjoy cuddling.  Guess I should enjoy that while I can since I’ve read here not to expect it when he’s grown up.

Anyhow, we named him Sable and we’ve been enjoying every minute of his antics especially since I’ve been on vacation this week.  I’m not sure how I’ll cope when I have to go back to work on Monday.

Welcome anitastark!  Now your entered into the drawing twice.  Good Luck!

The whole “house rabbit” thing really is relatively new, at least in comparison to cats and dogs.    It seems most people who had rabbits when they were young remember them being outside (and many times not living more than four years)   Because of the House Rabbit Society, and other rabbit education groups, things have really changed just in the  last 10 years.

I’m sorry to hear about your cat.   Sounds like she lived a LONG wonderful life with you though.

It’s great to start small and not give too much freedom right away,  otherwise your house may become a poop kingdom.   Gradually allow freedom once he’s been litter trained.

And you may get lucky, your bunny may love to be cuddled when he gets older.  I’ll keep my fingers crossed for you.  Otherwise, he’ll still want to snuggle with you on the ground.  Most still want to at least snuggle that way.

Also, a great thing about rabbits is that their schedule really is conducive to most working schedules.  They are up in the am, and then they lounge and sleep until dusk, about the time when many people get home from work.    They can also be flexible, many are able to change their own patterns to our schedule.

So no worries,  she’ll be happy to see you when you get home, and you’ll still get see her crazy antics.

      Hello everyone!
My name is Amie. I had my first rabbit around 2-3 years ago, I named him Snickers. We rescued him from an abusive owner and attempted to show him love; Unfortunately he got out of the house when we were cleaning his cage and never let us come near him, eventually he froze during winter, even though we left him food, water, and good bedding materials for a nice nest we hoped he’d make.
I’ve loved rabbits nearly all my life and now that I am considered old enough and responsible enough for a rabbit (I’m taking care of all the pets in our house) I’m going to work two jobs over the summer (dog walking and babysitting) to raise enough money for the best rabbit supplise, and a little tyker of my own. I’m leaning toward the Dutch, but my second choice is neatherland dwarf.
Any good tips I might not have seen ((or warnings)) would be awesome from current rabbit owners!
      Awesome site!!,
      Amie

Hello!  My name is Julie, and I have two very grouchy little buns!  The grouchiness is just temporary – they’re shedding at the moment.

Quick – she’s six and a half, and a Netherlands dwarf.  Despite her size, she’s the boss of the house, and willing to prove it at any time!

Peanut – he’s nine months old, and a Holland lop.  He’s a lumbering, clumsy, but often bouncy kind of guy – especially when the kitchen tap is on and he assumes he’s going to be given some greens!

      Hello
I have two rabbits (3 counting the one staying with us) Their names are Maggie, Gizmo, and Daisy . Maggie is a holland lop and Gizmo is a Mini Rex. They are both spayed/neutered and they have the run of my place. They are excellent with their litter boxes.

Maggie is the piggy one. She begs for food whenever she can. She will take food right out of your mouth so you have to be careful!

Gizmo is very playfull. He loves to do laps around the couch and big 360s in the air .

Daisy is staying with us right now, shes a Flemish Giant. Shes 26 pounds, full of energy, and she loves to cuddle.

I guess I should have been in here sooner. . .

Hi, I’m Lucy, and my bunny’s name is Fujoe. He’s actaully half mine and half my boyfriend Andy’s. Fujoe is a dutch dwarf. He’s 4.02 pounds (just went to the vet). He adopted him on craigslist. He’s 10 months old, and apparently suicidal since he’s eating everything he’s not supposed to: paint from the base boards, oil based clay, plaster, plastic, and now the underside of the kitchen table. uf! He’s really energetic, and will do 180s in the air.

But he’s cute! He’s our first bunny, and our baby. I spoil him with veggies, and he’s starting to be really affectionate at times- though he does growl quite a bit, he’s starting to finally calm down. – don’t you love bunny growls? You can’t help but laugh!

so there’s fujoe in a nutshell. . I can’t seem to get a photo of him uploaded for my posts (you know, under my name)- any help?

Welcome Spacey!  Now you’re entered to win the drawing twice!

Your bunnies sound so cute!   It is amazing how each bunny really is such an individual.

I have three, and Jack is the only one that will fight tooth and nail to be picked up.  The others aren’t fond of it but at least they don’t pitch a fit and are calm (for a bunny) during nail trims.

I really enjoy all the bunny personalities, from my independent boxing (sort of grumpy) Rucy, she’s more just “Excuse me, I know what I want and where I want it”,  Bailey – queenish with other bunnies, but sweet and affectionate with humans, and Jack – except for being picked up when necessary, he’s a LOVE to bunnies and humans.

Sounds like you have a wonderfully unique crew too.    So which ones have birthday’s on the 23rd and which ones have it on the 26th?

Hi am I too late to dance??

We have 2 roughly 12 week old babies, not sure what breed they are, just that they are dwarf lop sisters, and were in the same pen when we bought them.  Although they do not look at all alike and i’m actually wondering if thier sisters at all, anyway Booboo is black and white and a real nosey parker, she is into EVERYTHING, not at all scared to explore.  She likes to binky for a while, then run around the room 3 or 4 times and then zonk out panting.  Mable just sits and watches while she munches in her litter tray, she gets exhausted just watching Booboo! and thats Mable to a tee, eats, sleeps and poops for england!!  But we have to keep an eye on her, if any theres any naughtyness to be had it’ll be Mable that’ll be doing it!

They love each other very much and are always rolling on each other x

They are our 2nd experience with house rabbits, We recently lost our original bunny Missy, (bunny heaven-not misplaced) and the house seemed so empty, so we decided to give a home to two bunnies.

Missy left a massive hole, but she was such a loveable, sweet and fun bun that we couldn’t not have rabbits living with us!  They are so underestimated!!  Great site by the way!

Oh you’re never too late to dance! Sounds to me like you’ve been bitten by the bunny-luvin bug. : ) I lost my first rabbit 6 years ago. It was a huge hole that I happily filled with a bonded pair. : ) They can’te ver “replace” her, but boy it gives me joy to see & take care of them.

Welcome!  Now you’re entered into the drawing twice.  Thanks so much for the compliments.  We will continue to improve, especially the forum section.  So we hope you stick around!

Your bunnies sound so cute, and what a great name – booboo.  How cute is that?!

And I love how Mable is too. Jack can really get into a lot of trouble too.   The two females we have don’t chew or destroy things like Demolition Jack does.

People who have never had rabbits are usually amazed at such personalities!  And that they can be so different.

      Thanks so much for sharing!

my girlfriend and i got our first bunny a couple weeks ago and we love it.

we named her plop. she is an adorable lop. she is very lazy and curious.

i did a small amount of research before bringing her home, but perhaps i should have read a bit more. i didn’t know that you shouldn’t let them wander until they were litter trained. she is good about using the litter box while in her cage, but when she is out of her cage i cannot keep her from going on the couch. if i catch her in the act and put her in the litter box, she usually will finish in the litter box, but she still prefers the couch. any suggestions?

i’m an avid videogamer and so i have cords all over, but she has never chewed a single one. she is still very young and i would assume if she dosn’t chew them now, she won’t later. is this a wrong assumption?

      Hello Rabbit Lovers!

I’ve been “haunting” BinkyBunny.com for about a week now before registering today. Heehee ..

Anyway, I’m from Singapore but currently in Australia studying. I have 4 rabbits – BitBit (hence, my username and trademark among other rabbity friends), MaoMao, Dash and Socks. BitBit is an orange NZW-Lop cross while MaoMao is a Dutch-Chinchilla. Dash and Socks are their accidental offsprings. Dash is agouti-coloured and Socks is chinchilla-coloured. Honestly, I cannot be bothered about their heritage or whether they have “good genes” or not. They are just the lovable darlings I love and cherish as themselves. No bunny could ever take their places.

Having said that, I have also fostered 3 rescued rabbits – Stitch, Tryne and Kyler – before they were successfully adopted to kind and deserving families. They would, too, always be special in my heart.

While I’m studying in Aussie now, my 4 darlings are being taken care of by a friend who has more, if not equal, passion about rabbits and she loves my rabbits too. I miss them. Miss hugging them. Miss kissing them. Miss seeing their devilish-behind-innocent eyes. I’d reckon they aren’t missing me as much though. Haha .. they’re having a lot of fun with my friend’s own rabbits.

Last but not least, I want to include a kitty that I took home and he diets with my rabbits – eating pellets and hay every morning.  Odd little fellow~

      Right. That’s all about me.

      Love,

      Bitbitster

Well, I am glad your haunting got you here to the forum.  WELCOME!

How long are you away from your bunnies?  What a kind heart you have, and a strong one too.  The only time I fostered, I ended up adopting.    So I realized,  I couldn’t foster because I get too attached.  It’s wonderful that your foster bunnies a found loving homes.   Good for you!

I feel the same way you do about “good genes”, doesn’t matter to me at all!

Have a good day, and I am glad you stopped haunting and came out of the shadows.

      Have a good day!

Hi I just signed up. I found this site on Craigslist and thought I’d check it out.

I have a small farm out in east county San Diego.

I have a Pot belly Pig named Kikichio.

       A pitbull named Bella Rosso.

7 rabbits SumerIsle (hotot buck 2 years), Gomi (lionhead harliquin does 6 months), Oni Guru (lionhead satin cross black sport), Arbez (Sable Magpie lionhead doe 3 years), Hoshiro (Sable Point lionhead buck 1.5 years), and Snake Food (SF for short, Chestnut satin cross, hates everyone.)

Not to mention chickens and cats.

I’ve been rasing rabbits for over 12 years. I really like them. I started with Mini Rex, Californians, and New Zelands (white and black). I have also had holland lops. The lionheads have been my favorite so far because of their great personalities and really cute look.

I’m looking forward to discussing rabbit care and health with you all.

Welcome Christine!  Now you’re entered into the drawing for the bunny goodies!

Jack and I (as well as Rucy and Bailey) are so happy to have you here!  Jack will be back on myspace.com tomorrow actually! (er hopefully)    I have had to leave town for a family deal, so his “typist” has been MIA while the pet sitter makes sure he’s taken care of.

You’re fuzzy family sounds adorable!    How is Ludwig?   I know he is working towards his  senior citizen status so I was just wondering what kind of energy level he has and what differences, if any, you see in him at this age at this point.

Hi! I’m Alexa, and just a week ago became the new mommy of an 8 week old English Angora. Her name is Lola, and she is a white bundle of joy! I am new to the bunny world and always looking for help and some friends along the way!

Welcome Alexa!  We’re happy to have you here.  And that’s what were here for  – to share stories and help each other out.  Plus sharing all the  wonderful joys that rabbits bring and commiserating about all the naughty stuff they get into helps too!

Angora’s are quite a bit of work, but so worth it!  Absolutely gorgeous!  What made you decide on Lola?  Love at first site?

Did anyone tell you about what may happen when she reaches 3 – 4 months.  The hormone thing?  What changes to expect in her behavior?

Lola was definatly love at first site There was just something about her, and I have a lot of time on my hands for grooming, so I decided we would do okay together! I have heard that she will will hit puberty, and go slightly bonkers on me.. hehe. I am going to have to deal with that soon, and I most likely will get her spayed when that time comes!

wow, i am pretty late too. Cookie got here before me. =P i have two female bunnies that were spaded on April 24, 2006. both are from the same litter and to this day is about 14 weeks old. they are both adorable holland lops. Mochi is white and brown with a little bit of black in her fur and on the tips of her ears. she is a sweety pie that loves to play around and runs around my house exploring, her favorite place in under the living room futon. the thinks its a maze with all the boxes down there. she likes to watch u eat too. Emo is black with gray paws and a gray area on the sides of her neck. she is in timeout right now for picking fights with mochi and niping her in many places. however, she is only allowed out in the pen under my constant supervision becuase she is always trying to escape and she loves to poo everywhere still. her hormones should calm down a bit later and her true personality will show, she is actually pretty layed back and loves to lounge about. if it was her choice, she would sleep right next to the buda shrine on the floor. not sure why she likes to sit next to it but she does, probably because it is pretty and shiny. =P

Introduuuucccccinnnng…. Millivanilli, tortoiseshell mini lop known as Milli for short.  She is 3 months old and very darling. She is not very good at playing with any toys but is getting better. She lays about the place and then delights us with her binkies and racing speed, we even get the occasional "death"flop thrown in. She nudges and shoves for cuddles and will even gently nip if you ignore the nudges. She has managed the litterbox training without a problem. Her cage is in the lounge and she is let out whenever I am home. My next project is a playpen so that she can be out during the day when I am at work as well. So far I think she is really happy with us and I hope we can keep her that way.

PS. on the human front I am very happy to be here and look forward to having interaction with all the other bunnies humans I will meet here.
