My rabbit has a history of GI Stasis and dental disease. She was seen by her vet yesterday and had her teeth floated and had an ultrasound. She had an impacted cecum she was being treated for but it’s all clear now. I cleaned her litter box at 8am and she hasn’t pooped since, it’s almost 8pm now. She’s eaten some pellets and veggies but no poops. I gave her some Meloxicam, ranitidine (usually helps her appetite) and trimebutine (to make her go to the bathroom) and 180ml’s of sub-q fluids, she’s peed but still no poops, I did see her eat a cecotrope though. I also gave her some baby gas meds (ovol). She’s not in pain and just did a big flop. The emergency animal hospital isn’t much help with rabbits and her vet is closed until Monday. She’s usually in pain and uncomfortable when she’s having an episode of GI Stasis but she’s not showing any of that right now. Any suggestions? She’s 5 years old, spayed and also has kidney disease. I’ve had her since she was 4 months old and she’s been getting sick on and off for the last 2 and half years. She just seems to be getting sick more often this past year.

Update: there’s a few poops in her litter box now, they’re smaller than normal but at least she pooped.

Poop is good, even if they are smaller than usual. Has she continued to eat during this time? She could just have some gas.

Thanks for the reply! She’s eaten a bit but not nearly enough, I started syringe feeding cuz she’s had GI Stasis so much. I also thought it might be gas but she doesn’t usually lay stretched out like this when she’s having gas pain, her stomach does feel a bit gassy though. I’ll keep giving her ovol and hope this doesn’t turn into something serious….
