My Bam too choked on a pellet on the floor. There are never any guarantees. But I think all of us pet owners get that terrible feeling that maybe if we’d done this or that differently, the bad thing that happened wouldnt have happened.
Loki was lucky to have you for his mom. All your pets won the hoomin-lottery with you 💗

This morning, my rabbit wouldn’t eat her breakfast or any food I offered her. She even ignored the blueberries I gave to her. She was lethargic and hid under my bed most of the day. I gave her some simethicone in case she had some gas. Around 7 pm, she started eating, pooping, exploring, binkying, and acting normal again. It is later now and she…[Read more]

For those who have commented or who also have issues with new, bonded pairs, we had some success tonight with a neutral-space session. After speaking with their foster (who didn’t initially bond them but assisted) and getting tips on how she transitioned them to her home, I decided to use our hallway and an x-pen, plus some goodies to distract…[Read more]

Question – Are your bunnies neutered? Spayed? You said your first bunny is a boy, but you didn’t say what the second one is.

Posting for Binky Member P:
I adopted a male bunny after seeing a post saying that his owner loved him, but she no longer had the space/time for him after a couple months, and that she would send him to a shelter is he wasn’t adopted. I adopted him to provide the little on with a loving home. Everything was okay, and I was researching adequate c…[Read more]

Hi P! Welcome to BB! Just so you know, this is an old thread so people may be confused if they click on the topic and see the original post is from 2018. Therefore, you may not get any replies. I’m going to lock this thread and create a new one for you so people will see it.

Agreed that based on photos, veterinary assessment would be appropriate. A rule of thumb once you’re able to routinely clip nails is that it you should not be able to see the nails peeking out of the fur (for the main nails; the dew claw will likely peek out due to the angle, but schedule clipping it when you see the other nails peeking out). This…[Read more]

It’s kind of been a crazy week….. I’ve been trying to decide about spaying my buns. They are almost 18 months and bonded from birth. They have never really hurt each other, but I know the cancer risk is very big. This is the chat thread: https://binkybunny.com/forums/forum/house-rabbit-q-a/ I have been talking to my family about it and my dad (I…[Read more]

That sounds very positive! That technique was written about in an older HRS article (https://rabbit.org/journal/4-4/tough-bonding.html), I think some people like to call it “bunny magic” or “smooshing”. 🙂
Grooming can take some time, it really just depends on the bunnies. Some are really quick to groom, and others it might be the last thing you…[Read more]

Exactly. Especially when their sessions are 5-30 minutes long and eat immediately after / when they’re comfortable..
After the vet visit, I sat them down on the table ( making sure they’re secure ) and just petted them.. I felt this was super positive since there was no scuffles, no chasing, a little bit of nipping but nothing that stressed Zel…[Read more]

Thanks for the pics. I think with how it’s sticking out and since she’s showing symptoms of pain she should be checked out by a vet. And definitely get her nails trimmed fully, they are very long.

I do know of some cases where scuffles have occurred in hidey-houses (but usually during bonding sessions). Moving in general can cause issues in bonded pairs (not usually, but it is a common reason cited as to why a bond broke), so hopefully the rescue has some more insight and even help re-bond them.
