That sounds very positive!
I don’t mind head-mounting in a bonded pair, but the concern in an unbonded pair is that someone could get a bite to the genitals. I like to spin the mounting bun around so they end up in the rear-mounting position. Then if the mounted bun wants to leave, I prevent the mounter from chasing.
Hard so say how many…[Read more]

I think you know her best, and I would trust your gut. I often have coped with a feeling of being anxious and rushed with bonding. I’ve noticed that whenever I start to get that rushed feeling, I push the buns too hard, so now I try to intentionally slow down if I ever start getting that feeling. There is no harm in skipping a day or two if you…[Read more]

That sounds so great!
I think it’s good to take things slowly given their history, so i would keep separating them whenever you can’t supervise for now. But that is all so great to hear 🙂

Aww that’s tough. At this point, I wouldn’t necessarily change anything just yet. I would keep up with the petting and short sessions for a few more sessions and see if you notice any improvements. I would give it at least 3 or 4 more short sessions just as you have been doing, and then if things are still rough you can change things up (new…[Read more]

I was also going to suggest clicker training as a nice way to bond with her. Just like humans, bunnies have a wide range of what they like. I agree that she sounds like she trusts you a lot. Most of my buns have specific times when they would like pets, other times they are busy! lol

Good points @BZOO
There are also various tips on rehoming from rescue organizations all over. Asking for a small fee is important. I got my first house bunny (my beloved Bunston) as a craigslist rescue, so as long as you do some screening, good matches are possible.

When my bun had sore hocks, I wrapped them as described in the linked article 👇. I put some of his own fur inside them. I had to make very sure that all of the fur I used as lining inside the wrap was hid under the bandage, or he’d pull it out more or less right away.

I’ve posted a bonding help request post a few weeks ago. I’d now like to keep all my bonding related questions and updates here. Here is the template and a shorter version of what happened before (in my other post).
Spay/Neuter
Both the male and female are fixed and are 6 months old. Ive had my boy for over 2 months and hes been neutered for 3…[Read more] -

My bunnies have never had sore hocks so I don’t know much on how to treat them, but maybe look up on youtube… I think 101rabbbits made a video on it, sorry if I am wrong.

Wick & Fable replied to the topic Runny nose – normal or concerning? in the forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A 4 years, 10 months ago
Right now vigilant monitoring is a fine approach since frequency of discharge seems low. At the same time, if it is a URI (a common cause of nasal discharge, but not the only one), the sooner antibiotic treatment is started, typically the easier treatment is (since the infection has less time to multiply). Colored discharge (white, yellow, for…[Read more]

Hi guys,
I have two 9 1/2 year old buns and I adopted two babies last week (4 1/2 months and 7 months). I’m quarantining my new kids in my guest room which is in it’s own wing of my house. I live in Michigan and there is no reported RHDV2 here yet but we’ve been extremely cautious anyway, on top of bringing home new animals, so we sanitize/change…[Read more]

Awesome update from this evening ☺️ Bonding session two has been very productive.
We started them both in the neutral space, with a big heap of hay and veggies. There was shared eating and only a few grunts, and then multiple cuddle/grooming sessions.
After two hours, I opened up their reorganized shared kitchen space, offering no obstacles,…[Read more]

I am not normally an anxious human but I was extremely nervous sending in my little girl to get spayed. She was just shy of one year and she weighed around 3.5-4 lbs. I remember being so scared that I started to sob as soon as I walked out of the office after dropping her off. The only issue I had was her not wanting to eat afterward, so I stayed…[Read more]

Some bunnies are very “no-touchie”. It doesn’t mean there is anything wrong with them… it’s just the way they are. These bunnies often show affection in other ways. For instance, it sounds like she is comfortable enough around you to allow herself to sleep deeply. So at least you know she trusts you! To be honest, I don’t think you should stress…[Read more]
