Elizabeth Holmes! Lol. I love it.

Those pumpkin look great, Wick! Nice work. I can see the elephant 😉

We had the carving type pumpkins for sale here again. I’ve always wondered how a carved watermelon would look as they’re  cheaper & im season here. The green could look ghoulish enough.

Sending some healing (((vibes))) to Max & Ruby…[Read more]

Sending hugs to Daisy! I love that her feline friend is keeping her company.

It is a rude shock to see them after facial abscess treatment. I hope she rallies soon. Sometimes I think they cope better then us.

The vets gave good feedback and kept you so well informed of everything that was done. It does sound like she was in good hands.

    Are you…[Read more]

    Hello,

I have posted a couple times recently regarding my new rescue bun Bella and pre-bonding.

There is no crucial question in this post but it’s just more of an update and if  anyone wants to impart some wisdom and advice it’s very welcome…. Equally it’s a nice example of the benefits of pre-bonding.

Both bunnies are neutered and spayed.…[Read more]

You can flush it out with mildly warm water.  Then, when you get a chance, get some pet eye wash to have on hand.  Burt’s bees is good.  I just had to flush a chunk of paper out of a dog’s eye… how did it get there??

I tried to post a pic but it didn’t work so I will try to describe their cage. They have a 16 by 24 inch litter box in the corner 12 by 13  hide hut in another corner a bed that is 16 by 5 inches on the top level as well as a oxbow play post on the bottom level they have a bowl 3 inches in a corner and 2-4 toys. I don’t know if that helps but hope…[Read more]

My bunny has a small clump of something in her eye, it comes and goes so I think that it is fur. I can’t post a pic as I am on my computer which doesnt have any.  Would it be uncomfiable for her? Also is there a way to stop it? ( sorry for my spelling )

I agree with Dana. What you are describing aligns very closely with EC. The good news is that the treatment for EC is relatively inexpensive. I’m surprised your vet didn’t treat him on suspicion, especially considering he was having seizures.

I agree, it will depend on both animals. The dog needs to not have a strong prey drive and be able to follow commands even when something interests them. And the rabbit needs to be confident and not scared at the sight of a “predator”.

DanaNM replied to the topic Hock sore problems in the forum DIET & CARE 4 years, 9 months ago

The other types of flooring that can help sore hocks are “vet bed” beds, or the thin beds they sell to line dog crates with. I also have found these ultra soft puppy blankets that work great in the bunny condos, they don’t pill up or get hay stuck in them. Myra was starting to get some callouses on her heels and I added a vet bed to the area she…[Read more]

That’s good to know. They won’t remember any “baby bonds” though unfortunately.

It can be a long time for poops to reappear, but it is a very stressful thing to wait!

I always refer back to this article, and specifically the part about how it is important to be patient and wait for the treatments to work.

That sounds really difficult, I’m sorry you are going through this. 🙁

Did your vet consider EC (http://www.medirabbit.com/EN/Neurology/cuniculi/pyrimethamine.htm)  when you took him in? It doesn’t often show up in tests but can cause neurological problems. Many vets will treat for it on suspicion alone, and given his neurological symptoms that…[Read more]

Definitely agreed with the cat thing but that’s also why I mentioned my rabbits interactions with my grandmother’s dog. That beagle was about 35lbs, way bigger than the bunny. Also, her next dog, Champ, a Labrador/basset hound mix also got along fine with my bunny when we needled to dog sit him for a week. He was about 50lbs.

So on Friday, Bean had a little less pellets (but still some) than usual, and it continued into Saturday, however she was still pretty active and wanted to eat the wallpaper so we assumed that she was getting better herself (she does have more sensitive gut than usual). Maybe this was a mistake on my behalf, but on Sunday morning we took her to…[Read more]

I am able to bring the bunny back if unable to bond. I don’t know if this matters but Ollie and his brother used to be together when little.

So I have a 9 year old mini. A few weeks ago I had brought him to the vet because he was having seizures. The vet after examining him told me that everything looks fine. We had the blood work done and it came back good. So we went home. He had stoped having seizures and then yesterday morning I noticed that he was laying on his side. Buggs…[Read more]

I’m not sure how often, but it does happen sometimes. There have been reports of it on the forum over the years. It seems more common that the trio just doesn’t bond or takes a very long time… there are some members that just finished their trios after a year + of work! Or sometimes the current pair breaks up and one bonds with the new bun, so…[Read more]
