It’s really hard getting attached to these sweeties then dealing with medical issues/ losing them unexpectedly. I’m sorry for your experiences and losses as well.

It’s so awful when you have a string of losses like that. I had that happen several years ago (lost Bunston, then had a very very sick foster who I didn’t adopt, then suddenly lost Moose at age 2 after only having him for 6 months or so), and it’s very hard to not blame yourself, but things just happen sometimes with rabbits.

It’s so sad to lose a young bun. It’s sad to lose any bun, but it seems so extra unfair when the bun is young. I’m glad he got 14 months with you, he seems to have made the most of them. Lots of love and adventures!

It is so stressful and frustrating dealing with a poorly bun that’s up and down, you are doing a great job with her. I’m really happy to hear she loves the Emeraid! It makes syringe feeding so much easier when they like the food.

update 4/17- its been very up and down, saturday bad, sunday fantastic, monday in between, tuesday awesome. hoping we can stay make some consistent progress. she gained back 2 oz tuesday so i am super happy. i have been consistent with her syringe feedings 3 x a day and subQ fluids as well as metacam, metacloprimide, enroflaxin, and gas drops. we…[Read more]

hi, yes poops look normal in between stasis episodes. we have done lots of tests to try and find a cause to her chronic stasis bouts but have come up with nothing so far. she gets benebac, laxatone and sherwood digestive tabs daily as a preventative measure. and we added daily simethicone after her last stasis due to gas.

10 is old but if he is otherwise in good health then I definitely wouldn’t brush things off as “just old”. I’m sorry you’ve been getting dismissed by vets, that’s happened to me as well and it’s very frustrating! Especially when it means you end up wasting time that could be spent treating the issue.
