You did the right thing! Don’t worry!

Baby rabbits do not truly bond, so in addition to preventing pregnancy, it’s important to separate before hormones kick in and trigger fighting:

Going to link this post here which has a bit of info on this too: https://binkybunny.com/forums/topic/help-why-are-my-rabbits-fighting/

My understanding is that if the rabbit is drinking a lot but not peeing a lot, that is cause for concern. And drinking a lot can be a symptom of other issues, but the drinking in itself isn’t bad.

Is the vet 100% sure the UTI is cleared?

About a month and a half ago my boyfriend and I went to look at a precious 8 week old Holland lop and naturally (who could not) fell in love.
So cute and soft! It was truly love at first site. The breeder was amazing too and everything felt right. So right that when we found out she had a sibling that was yet to be rehomed we couldn’t bare the t…[Read more]

I don’t have the exact measurements, but he drinks a bowl and a bit each day. About 6 months ago he only drank about 1/3 of that. However, that article is reassuring, thank you for linking it.

His urine is coloured, and the vet thought it was a good healthy colour.

We were just alarmed at the sudden change in the amount he drank, which made s…[Read more]

Yep, his teeth have been checked, they’re all fine, and yes his kidney function has been checked, first thing we did.

As long as there’s no risk to his health from drinking so much I’m not concerned, I was just worried that it would lead to issues further down the line.

Rabbits drink a surprisingly high volume of water. Have you gotten a measurement of actually how much he drinks in a day? https://wabbitwiki.com/wiki/Diet#Water

What color is his urine typically? If it is indeed excessive water intake, the urine will be more clear rather than colored, since the body is taking in more water than necessary.

Sounds great! Sometimes I have a sneaky suspicion that vets that charge exorbitant fees for neuters/spays might not want to do those procedures. They don’t want to say that they can’t do them, but the price indicates that they’d rather not. In any case, high prices means they probably don’t neuter/spay very many buns, and it is of course always…[Read more]

Hmmm, have his teeth been checked? I had a bun with dental issues that drank TONS of water, probably to sooth his mouth.

I’m assuming his kidney function has been checked?

Drinking lots of water is not a bad thing in itself (most of us are trying to get our buns to drink more, and drinking after eating hay is also normal), but I think you’ll…[Read more]

I’m glad they are both doing well. Since they weren’t truly bonded they are probably happy to have some alone time. 🙂

I recommend reading over this info as a starting point:

And then happy to try to answer any questions that come up. 🙂

That’s great! Yes sometimes the more experienced vets have lower prices, so it’s true that cheap is not always bad!

She just hopped from toilet now so I managed to take the picture. This is what it is like. It was almost all together but I took it apart to see.

Omg I managed to make it. Here are pictures of the droppings. First are like cecotropes, she just was in the toilet and it happened again. Smaller normal droppings and one pile of cecotrope like.

Second is normal plus darker moist one. Hope you can see something on the photos.
