Yes, a brush works well. Or you can pin it on a clothesline and use a squeegee in the direction of the fabric.
We often do that for regular carpets as well, before vacuum cleaning. If we didn’t, we’d go through 3 vacuum cleaner bags in a week, this place looks like a barn xD
I don’t know the English word, but for the carpets we use the big…[Read more]

Brush the fleece with a slicker brush.

They are big pee puddles and she usually does it when I’m sleeping. She’ll jump on the bed and do it next to me usually with an alert stance. Only yesterday did she actually do it in the daytime when I wasn’t there. The weird thing is, she just started doing this out of nowhere.

There are many reasons why bunnies pee on your bed. That’s why I wonder when it happens: does it happen when you’re in the room and making eye contact? And is she cranky in general? Then she’s probably angry at you, and trying to show you who’s the boss.
Does it happen when you’re not there and has she become more anxious or clingy? Then she’s…[Read more]

So it turns out my 1 yr old bunny “could lose a bit of weight” according to the vet. He is a holland lop, neutered, at 2.185 kg and she wants him to be 2.1kg, even 2.0kg of possible. He is not fat per se, but I do agree that he is slightly bigger. What I do not understand is that his diet is very healthy, I have no idea how he managed to be…[Read more]

Hello, I just made a digging box for my bunny, she is a spayed female. I made it out of shredded paper, but I think I need to switch over to soil. She is mistaking it for a litterbox and peeing in it. I think soil could fix that problem. What type/brand of soil is safe for her?

Hi, there is no reason to be sorry for posting a lot. Now, when I had fleece in my bunnies cage I found the best way was to fist shake it off outside because it makes a mess, then to put it in the wash, you do have to get a few hay pieces out of the washer though.

Hello, I’ve had my girl for about4 months now. She is spayed and is usually pretty good with her litterbox habits. All of a sudden she is starting to get into the habit of peeing on my bed. Any ideas why?

I hope this is the right place for this post and sorry for posting so much. How can someone get hay out of fleece without a vacuum? My dad likes to throw the fleece blankets away and it aggravates me so much, he won’t even try a vacuum and says that hay will clog it up and he can’t afford a new one.

Haha! That’s what is fun about bunnies. They are all so different. It’s great that you don’t have any expectations for them. It will be so much more enjoyable watching them blossom into their own unique personalities.
Mop? I love it! I will be curious to see if Owen continues to do that as he gets older.

If you treat your bunny with Revolution, there is some environmental benefit. Skin dander can help carry the Revolution into the environment. But it only really works where it would become concentrated (e.g. a pet bed, etc.). The best way to clean the environment is to wash any soft things in hot water (fleece, blankets, beds, etc.) and then…[Read more]

Ellie, that is so true! Few things in life equal the intense joy of seeing poop after your bun has been poorly! I confess in such moments I actually have taken pics of poop and sent to other (bunny) people =D

Unfortunately I do not have personal experience on cleaning the environment due to mites. I’ve linked two sites which may provide some guidance on mite treatment as well as cleaning procedures: https://wabbitwiki.com/wiki/Mites , https://wabbitwiki.com/wiki/Cleaning_after_your_rabbit

Who’d have believed it? I wouldn’t have, so I had to take a picture really sneakily… It’s Owen’s 5th day here, and he’s laying on my lap already!
He’s still exploring his territory and his escape routes. Part of that is jumping onto the sofa and running across my lap to the other side of the sofa 😆
Today I was sitting with a blanket, and…[Read more]

OBD, I love the term! I think that the diagnosis can be officially confirmed after the first “weeping over a poop” moment.
That glorious moment when you know that your ill bunny will be alright, because you just saw the most wonderful poop in the world!
You get the terrible urge to whip out your phone and send it to all your other bunny-loving…[Read more]

Hello all,
We’ve been to the vet with Pheebs today and Dr said she has skin mites (very little blackish dots), she has been treated but we were wondering about cleaning the environment.
All bedding/toys were disposed of, the batch of hay we’ve been using as well in case it’s how she got it. The problem is the carpets/sofa that she loves. We’ve…[Read more]
