Are they molting? It looks like they could be strung together with some hair. Are the rest of the poops pretty normal looking? If their other poops are back to normal then I wouldn’t worry. Sometimes during a molt some poops can get strung together weirdly. If you start noticing more like this then something could be going on with their digestion.

Has she been treated for E Cuniculi? The incontinence really sounds like EC (and with going outside she could have been exposed). I used to buy her orchard hay from our local stable. It was fresh, green and good quality with long strands. It also depends on what quality food your bun is getting, so make sure she’s getting good quality hay. You definitely see a change in litterbox smell!

I used to use puppy pads to line my bun’s litter box and I just snipped the plastic off the sides, so she couldn’t chew it. I almost never used litter, just a puppy pad and orchard hay. From my experience, there may be a level of simply not bothering to get into the litter box anymore. Rabbits get hay dust and particles up their nose all the time. I don’t see how this is different. I agree, if he seems fine now then it was probably just a little nose irritation.

Good ideas! If I were to ever make this and sell it, I might look into a plastic or metal bottom. And I like the idea for biscuits or dowels for the dish holder. For now, I’ll probably stick to wood since I have it readily available, and my bunny (who will be using it), Jumping Jack, is litter trained and hasn’t marked in awhile.
