I thought cyniclomyces was part of the rabbit gut microbiome. Just like anything else, it can be opportunistic… but it doesn’t sound like this is the case here. I mean, at least by what you’re describing. I didn’t read through everything. Have you considered a probiotic?

LBJ10 replied to the topic Stomach gurgling in the forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A 4 years, 8 months ago
I agree. It’s probably gastric distress as Wick suggested. I wouldn’t be too alarmed if he is still eating and pooping. You could always try giving him some simethicone though to see if that helps work the gas out. Since this has been ongoing for a few days, it does make you wonder if something new (but consistent, like a new food) has been introduced.

I’m glad she is doing better! Thank you for the update! I’m sure this information will be useful to someone in the future. If they do a search, it should pop up in the results. 🙂

Hello Everyone! I have an eye question for anyone who has experienced this so story time first.
In April I found a bunny outside caught her and brought her into my home within hours she gave gave birth in my closet! Turned out she was pregnant. I fostered the mom and all the babies for 5 months until they were old enough to be neutered where they…[Read more]

Susanne replied to the topic Peeing outside of the litter box in the forum BEHAVIOR 4 years, 8 months ago
When I first bonded my rabbits, the girl was peeing outside the box for a while. She would even go back to the closet where I bonded them and mark all over! I tried different litters and boxes.. but it was probably just the new bond and time helped. I think it was several weeks then she suddenly started using the box all the time again.

Not much of an update but so I can help myself keep track: we did day 3 of stress bonding today. About 50 min in the car. They didnt lean together as much as I’d hoped, but they were still forced to be against each other. No fighting or nipping that I saw. At times Ruby was half on top of him trying to get out.
How many days of these carrier only…[Read more]

An Update!Whimsy has made a recovery and come home! She was at the Emergency Vet for a little over a week on Oxygen. I’m updating this post with information about her treatment in hopes it may help others in the future. I feel one of the only reasons we were able to save her was through limited information I found through forums and asking… -

Hi there, my longtime boyfriend and I just lost our second daughter, Rydeen. She was having trouble with her nose for awhile and vet gave us antibiotics for her, but ended up not fixing her problem. She started to have trouble breathing and passed away in front of us. All we can do was cradle her as she looked scared of not being able to breath.…[Read more]

Glad to hear they are doing well.
Stressful doesn’t begin to describe it. Many break downs thinking I was going to have to give critters up!
Hey, maybe we should start a data base of members that would be able to help in similar situations? Location and what critters we could care for??

You’re doing a great job! And yes the internet can be overwhelming, lots of opinions! It can be a case of “too many cooks” sometimes for sure.
I try to focus on the behaviors I’m seeing, and whether there’s an increase in positives (grooming, snuggling, relaxing, self grooming, etc.) and a general decrease in negatives (fighting, lunging, biting,…[Read more]

Okay, sorry if you’ve repeated yourself!
That makes me feel a better, I think sometimes reading the Internet doesn’t always help as some articles i have read about bonding give a lot of attention to the whole hierarchy thing so they can easily plant a seed of doubt when things aren’t turning out as black and white as some information online.…[Read more]

I know Milo had a lot going on. He was a fighter for sure, but sometimes the problems just keep piling up and it becomes too much for them. The food falling out of his mouth was probably the facial paralysis. I believe we talked about that in one of your threads. One side looked bigger than the other because of the paralysis.
Don’t beat yourself…[Read more]

Myra is a California mix of some sort, so not a lop but she has the same coloration. 🙂
There have been some issues with adding images to posts since the site update. If you add them to your profile (as though you are going to change your profile pic) they should stay in your media library and then you can add them to a reply.

I found some more great pictures of Milo I am just not sure how to attach, I tried to attach them in a similiar fashion as I did previously but it said could not be attached to this post.

Thank you, I sure did 🙁 Yes unfortunately there was a lot going on and matters were made worse was the food and especially water that would roll out of his one side of his lip and end up all over his fur/below him. I’m still not sure what was going on but it seemed one cheek was slightly bigger than the other, he appeared to be able to eat…[Read more]
