I agree with Wick. A lot of times, they grow out of it. They stop growing and the teeth settle.

Hmm… sounds more like a digestive issue then. Is he prone to gas? Some bunnies will have episodes of gas that will come and go.

What all has the vet done…bloodworm, x-rays, ultra sound?

It does look a little crusty in the picture. Ear mite crusts tend to not form on the outside of the ear until an infestation is really bad. Is there any fur loss? It could be ringworm or something.

That amount could just be from natural fur shedding honestly. I’d continue to monitor to see if it gets worse but it doesn’t “scream” mites to me at this stage.

I found this on top of my bunny’s ear today.  She isn’t constantly itching nor has she lost her appetite.  She also doesn’t have any crust or flakes inside of her ear.  I don’t know how this formed on her ear.  I tried to gently remove it and I found them to be very thin flakes.  A little fur came off with it.  I stopped trying to remove it aft…[Read more]

You can do a more informed check for bloat by following along with this video: https://youtu.be/iVW6Rw5rZzo

It is very unlikely to be bloat based on the timeline you describe– bloat is typically an acute, extremely severe condition caused by a blockage. The GI system is literally plugged, so a rabbit with true bloat is not going to last…[Read more]

Sorry I have just re-read you post and see you mentioned he is being force fed… That’s must be so difficult on everyone involved! 🙁

If it were me personally I’d get a second opinion from another vet and see if they can identify anything.

My Wick (Netherland Dwarf; problems of the flat faces indeed…) needed monthly molar grinding when he was younger. Before he reached 2yo, he had 12 molar grindings already. He is now 5yo and has had a total of 13– so he hasn’t had one in literal years now. Wick does have malocclusion. His “flavor” is his bottom incisors are slightly in front of…[Read more]

I am so sorry to hear your bunny is unwell!

I can see why the vet would be reluctant to have him put to sleep if there is no seemingly obvious health condition, as perhaps when the cause is found he could make a full recovery and live a long life that would be my guess on her thinking.

Are you having to feed him critical care and giving pain…[Read more]

Thank you so much for your answer!

The signs I described are actually the main ones, not interested in food, not interested in playing, scratching the floor and being aggressive sometimes.

As I was saying he has been sick many times in the past and he always shows it with this pattern.

That’s how I am completely sure he is not OK.

    Normally…[Read more]

I’m sorry your bunny is unwell. You said he is sick, but you didn’t really say what his symptoms are. I’m just curious. Perhaps we can provide some suggestions if we have more information.

    Hi everybody,

It is completely heart broken that I am seeking help today.

My little bunny, pom-pom, has been sick for the past 3 month, we did many examination, blood test, x ray but nothing is conclusive.

The veterinarian stated that she has not a clue what pom-pom can have.

At the moment, our bunny has poor life quality, for the past 3…[Read more]

    Hi all,

I’ve noticed in recent weeks that my 7 year old female bun Caramel has a really firm tummy. When she lays down and I stroke her, her abdomen seems really tight while before it was quite soft. She has been spayed and is eating & pooping normally, and otherwise acting normally so I’m not sure it can be bloat! I also haven’t noticed her…[Read more]
