Thanks. On their website, the page for the digestive support…if you scroll thru, it talks about it. Very odd, but what do I know?🤪
I just double checked, I sorta get the point, but then I don’t, so…
Seems so many different ways for bunnies. In the olden days, they got pellets, clean water and fresh straw to raise the babies in, that’s it…[Read more]

Feeding veggies is not an absolute necessity. However, I do not recall Sherwood saying that you shouldn’t feed them at all.

I’m a big fan of the Oxbow Garden Select, so guessing the other is just as good.
Buns may or may not eat hay well, I’m trying the Sherwood unlimited pellets soon.
So, I think either way is good. You are avoiding foods full of sugar, artificial colors and fillers, so get what is easier for you to get.

Honestly, I don’t think there is a whole lot of difference. I mean, not in the long run anyway. FWIW, I have heard people say their bunny did not like the taste of the organic formula. Every bunny is different though.

Just found out Oxbow Organic Bounty existed…
So, I’ve had my 8(ish…?) year old Holland Lop bunny Jumping Jack on Oxbow Garden Select since spring/summer. We need to order a new bag, and I’m wondering if Organic Bounty wouldn’t be better?
Here’s a bit about Jumping Jack:
-7-8 years old
-Female
-Holland Lop
-Lives with no other rabbits…[Read more]

I just placed an order for some Sherwood digestive aid and one of their pellets.
I believe it was the pellet bag that said NO veggies or fruit. I also seem to remember many years ago, my SIL was told by her vet the same thing.
They so love a little carrot in the morning and some greens at night, what to do!
I know many of y’all feed greens…[Read more]

Hi friends, I’m having issues again with my rescue bun who is 8 months old. Before, I’ve posted here in regards to his poor hay eating habit and subsequent poop concern. When I got him at 4 months old, he’d never been fed grass hay. Several weeks into having him, he was pretty good at eating orchard grass. However, recently I’ve noticed his hay…[Read more]

It sounds like things are going really well!
Bowing there heads and taking turns grooming each other is excellent. It’s not a necessity for them to mount or nip, it sounds like they have skipped that step and are well on their way to being bonded. Not sure about the digging, but you could be right in that he just wanted to get the other bun to…[Read more]

okay hello guys!so up until recently my buns have been showing lots of positive response from the bonding session!I had both of them eat their meal together in the bathroom then I set up a small space in there for them to bond and they are now flopping, frequently licking each other and slept too! like he didn’t even budge when he was sleeping and…[Read more]

Yeah I’ve noticed the main reasons for neutering solo male bunnies seem to be hormonal behaviors in general, not necessarily aggression (spraying, marking, circling, nipping, and mounting). And sadly often times these behaviors lead to the animal being surrendered at a shelter because the owner doesn’t realize that many of them could be much…[Read more]

Welcome to BinkyBunny, bluey!
This is an old topic, so I will lock it since the OP will likely not respond. I encourage you to post your own topic so active users can comment and make suggestions!
Rabbits are naturally going to chew things — it is in their nature and cannot be reduced, since it is imperative for maintaining their teeth. You can…[Read more]

My bunny just ate silicone too, it was my apple pencil sleeve like chunks of it. I’m so angry, but mostly worried now. Am I not feeding him enough or giving him enough toys, he just always bites stuff he’s not supposed to. I give plenty of pellets, Timothy and alfalfa hay, chew sticks, straw mat.

Looking at the history, I think the best progress has been the ottoman without stressing first. Things have still been back and forth, but it’s been more common the last ~7 days or so to get a little cuddling and grooming. And of course the hard nipping hasn’t happened in a while now.
Maxwell seems to get stressed on the slick floor.. maybe I…[Read more]

I would definitely get him neutered! It does help, I agree that the vet was incorrect. Mine also love the palm plates, and TP rolls stuffed with hay. I’ve also made a dig box with tissue paper which one of them got obsessed with… they all seem to have different toy preferences 🙂

Thank you for the advice. My vet said as he isn’t bonded and is not aggressive there’s no need – but this nipping is a huge problem. I will try covering the bars with a towel and see how that goes – many thanks. Just off to Google Organic Palm Plates!!!

I’m happy to say your vet is incorrect (most likely)! Not all vets have a ton of knowledge on rabbit behavior, unfortunately.
Feet circling and nipping is an “amorous” behavior, male buns will do this to female buns when they are preparing to mount. So he loooves your feet. LOL
So I would say just hang in there and wait till his neuter. Wearing…[Read more]

Hi all. My bunny is 5 months and he circles my feet constantly and has started nipping. At first he nipped when they were in his way, but now he just nips them generally. He was booked in to be neutered, but the vet said that would not calm these behaviours. I am so confused as reading threads on here, that would not appear to be so. Plea…[Read more]
