Poop can vary from rabbit to rabbit and from day to day. Those look just fine to me.

OMG! How cute! He sure is fuzzy. Do you have more pictures of him? From the picture you posted, he looks more like a Jersey Wooly to me.

LBJ10 replied to the topic Sleep through the night instead of eating hay? in the forum DIET & CARE 4 years, 8 months ago
Yeah, I don’t think it’s anything to worry about. If he’s eating a good amount of hay during his active times, then he should be fine. I know we think bunnies are just eating machines, but they don’t eat continuously. There are breaks in there. A lot of bunnies sleep at night, become active in the early morning hours, and then sleep again in the…[Read more]

To an extent, rabbits as well as other pets adapt to our active hours. They are crepuscular, which means they are the most active at dawn and dusk. 5.30 is pretty much dawn. They will nap during the day – my bun is 7.5 months now and if I’m at home, I barely hear a sound from her during the day, unless I try to eat an apple, in which case she…[Read more]

I imagine now that the initial shock of moving to a new home has worn off, his territorial instincts are starting to kick in again. I agree that this behavior can definitely be improved by neutering. Working on a relationship will help as well. Once he sees he can trust you, he won’t feel the need to defend himself and his area so much. You did…[Read more]

Reading what everyone else is saying, it sounds like Sherwood suggests reducing the amount of veggies, fruits, and treats if your bunny is not eating enough hay. If that’s the case, then I would agree with this. They can most definitely fill up of veggies, just like they can fill up on pellets. You want to make sure they are eating enough hay.…[Read more]

I will say here, Sherwood is a very misleading company. This article is what you should be listening to:
If you look at the bunny diet chart in the article, it says, Hay 80%, Veggies 10% pellets 5%, and treats 0-5%. Please don’t believe the garbage about no veggies, it not true at all. Now, veggies can be…[Read more]

I too give my bun veggies, and I too have reduced the amount I give. I now consider veggies enrichment – i e it adds quite a bit to quality of life but not any significant amount of nutrients. During the vegetation period I have access to a wide variety of leaves and herbs – this time of year, not so much. My bun gets fresh apple twigs and some…[Read more]

A lot of bunnies can become “cage aggressive”, especially when not neutered. It’s sadly possible this behavior was what led to him being abandoned (again, thank goodness you found him!)
The good news is it will very likely improve, both with neutering and as you form a better relationship with him. My first house bunny Bunston hated when we…[Read more]

Yeah ya know, that’s one of the things about Sherwood that I’m not too convinced off (and I do feed sherwood pellets and think my rabbits have done really well on them). Like I get their point, but some of their messaging makes it sounds like veggies are the ultimate cause of all rabbit health issues, which I really disagree with. It also kind of…[Read more]

This will likely stop when you and he have developed a relationship of mutual trust. Meanwhile it is important that he realizes that he has nothing to gain from charging and biting. It’s good that you stayed in his area post-bite, because if you flee, the animal immediately learns that biting will make the hoomin go away. Rabbits are flight…[Read more]

I have had a new bun for 4 days, I’ve never had a bunny before, I rescued him. He is not neutered, being neutered on Monday so I can adopt a bun for him. I got in his enclosure today, cleaning up, getting food and snack, I moved a little quick and was very close to him, right up on him ( like I have before) and he just lunged and bit me!! Hard t…[Read more]

As LBJ says, vegetables are not a necessity. Rabbits are grass-eaters and have evolved as grass eaters for millions of years. This doesn’t mean that a small amount of vegetables is bad for a rabbit – but it shouldn’t be so much that it interferes with the bun’s appetite for hay.
When it comes to hay, rabbits do best on a variety of hays, because…[Read more]
