I have replied to your other thread, so I’m locking this thread now. It will be simpler for everybody to read and reply if we keep this in the same thread =)

Hello!
Too much water can’t cause statis. In bad cases of stais or a GI blockage, the water in the intestine can sometimes “leak out” and leave the the intestines. In which case water by mouth will not make a difference, the rabbit needs sub q or intravenous fluids.
Rabbits in pain tend not to pee, they often hold the pee for as long as…[Read more]

Thank you!
Hope and Patches do not fight seriously, they do groom eachother sometimes and rest together. Hope nips her a lot and chases her but nobody gets hurt. Is there something I can do about the nipping?
Also, thank you so much for the boredom buster ideas. I will try them, I’ll see if they like the enrichment.
I agree that Patches…[Read more]

I agree with Wick that spaying will help a ton with litter training.
Do keep a close eye on them (look for fur clumps pulled or other evidence of fighting) to make sure they don’t start fighting as Patches starts to mature more. Pre-puberty rabbits will often get along, but then hormone changes will trigger fighting. If they do fight seriously,…[Read more]

MMmm replied to the topic Sleep through the night instead of eating hay? in the forum DIET & CARE 4 years, 8 months ago
I’ve always top up his hay throughout the day and completely changed his hay right before bed. He used to eat on and off at night but not anymore.
by the way he’s currently boarding at my friends house. My friend reported the same thing: not really eating anything at night but pretty good in the day time. -

Their litter habits will be greatly improved upon 1) Hope getting spayed and 2) once they are both properly bonded. As of now, you likely have two rabbits territorially marking in response to each other/hormones (the presence of a rabbit not formally bonded to another/an intact rabbit can facilitate hormonal behaviors in an already fixed rabbit).

We are getting Hope spayed in a week or two. I am sorry I mentioned breeding. Hope and Patches are both females.

Since this is a house rabbit pet forum which encourages rescue and discourages breeding (and the topic of intentional breeding is prohibited), I have omitted some content from your topic for its approval.
Please see here for tips on litter training: https://binkybunny.com/infocategory/litterbox-training/
Note that litterbox training intact (i.e.,…[Read more] -

I would use pine bedding, or aspen bedding if possible.

Bam replied to the topic Strange Patch of Fur in the forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A 4 years, 8 months ago
As Wick says, this is a regular (and very cute) molt patch. It’s simply the new fur coming in. Sometimes you see completely bald spots in a shedding rabbit, but within 1 max 2 weeks or so, you can feel the new hair growth and then you see it. Your rabbit has banded hair, meaning the individual hairs are differently colored along their lenght. The…[Read more]

Hello! So, first of all, you can read this story to understand my questions better:
I have two rabbits. Hope and Patches.
Hope was bought from a professional breeder (Huntington Hoppers.) Patches was as well. I don’t reccomend buying from just any breeder, but if you want to, you can buy a bunny from Huntington Hoppers. The breeder is very kind…[Read more]

Did your vet do blood work? If you suspect there may be something internally wrong that would be my next step. I also agree with Bam that an x-ray of the mouth could be informative.
I think separating the buns while giving them their pellets will help a lot, as will increasing her ration to the highest recommended for her ideal weight. I also…[Read more]

I would reccomend booking an appointment with a rabbit savvy vet. Like Bam said, a rabbit savvy vet wouldn’t reccomend to give carrots to your rabbit. A rabbit savvy vet can determine that there are any dental problems going on with Boo.
Feeding her alfalfa hay is a good idea. It has lots of nutrients and protein. I would reccomend feeding her a…[Read more]

Hi,
My Holland Lop, Penelope, is going to be 2 years old in February. I’ve gone through the shedding stages with her and right now is one of those times where she is shedding, a lot. I just noticed this strange spot on her head, once I moved her long fur on her head. It’s definitely fur, just very short and almost in a perfect outlined cir…[Read more]
