Poor Charlie 🙁 And poor you! I know you have been dealing with this for so long, and have tried so many different things.
I don’t really have anything to contribute I’m afraid, just want to say I’m sorry you are still going through this with her. 🙁

martini replied to the topic Picking up a rabbit… in the forum BEHAVIOR 4 years, 8 months ago
On picking up: my bunny now lets me pick him up (does not love it but he tolerates me lol) but it was not the case at the beginning. What really helped me was the towel/blanket method I saw in one of the videos online. You basically throw the blanket/towel over the bunny (covering its entire body, including the head). The bunny will stay still…[Read more]

martini replied to the topic Are pellet free diets any good? in the forum DIET & CARE 4 years, 8 months ago
My bunny (4 pounds/2kg, holland lop) is on a pellet-free diet (almost). I give him 4-5 pellets as a treat every 2-3 days, if even that, and he is doing fine (we go to the vet every 2-3 months because we travel with him, and before each trip I have him checked for the peace of mind). He gets 4-5 types of veggies every day, about 1 cup (always…[Read more]

That’d be nice! I’ll take a look at those

If they’re all okay, then, I think I’ll stick to Garden Select, since that’s what she’s already on. Plus, she’s a bit older, and even though she’s super smart and in good health, I don’t think she’d be a big fan of another pellet change
That, and I hate transitioning pellets. It’s such a hassle

JackWabbit13 replied to the topic Best Rabbit Litter in the forum HABITATS AND TOYS 4 years, 8 months ago
So, I tried the SoPhresh litter, and this stuff is comfy for her. And I don’t know why, but as soon as we switched her to this, she started only using the back of her litter box, and then gets closer to the front as it gets soiled (which isn’t often, as I keep her box cleaned regularly). This way, I can remove half of it, and then fill it back up…[Read more]

Ok so as of last night, the only difference between the living room and downstairs room is that Maxwell resists his head being mounted upstairs. They may not cuddle as much either, but they still stay close mostly, both groom each other, etc..I put a hay tray and litter box in there yesterday and though they only used the hay tray together for a…[Read more]

Okay great! I syringed a couple ml of water after her medication as to not stress her by constant handling. When you say you start with 6 ml, how much would be too much in day? I’ve always used bowls so never really measured how much they drink.
I am going to try get more critical care off the vets as I don’t have any fresh stuff left at home……[Read more]

Hey,
It’s very common for rabbits who are just placed into the same enclosure to start fighting or showing negative behaviours. So I think if you bond them properly after they are all spayed/neutered, they will eventually get on just fine. It would be rare for the male to not get on with the others but the bonding must be done properly.

I am so sorry you lost Pablo. It is an awful decision to have to make. It does sound like he was very ill. There are several possible causes for severe anemia, none of them good, including cancer. I do believe you made the right choice for him, but I’m familiar with that nagging guilt that says perhaps I couldve done more.
Vets like to treat…[Read more]

A few weeks ago my bunny Pablo was a little more tired than usual. Before going to bed that night I checked on him and he was playing with his toys and still eating. The next morning when I opened his hutch he wouldn’t come out… I called the vet and made an appointment and got him to eat some critical care. The vet listened to his stomach and cou…[Read more]

Thank you for this report! Weightloss tips for rabbits are very important and useful!
Fibafirst does contain things that arent “natural” components of a rabbit’s diet, such as wheat flour, soybean flour and ground peas. Since rabbit feed producers as a rule dont declare energy content, I dont know if Fibafirst are extra energy dense. Rabbits tend…[Read more]

Ok so updating this in case someone finds it interesting / useful. And can provide me with their opinion:
Martini managed to lose all his extra weight by doing all of the above (mainly cutting down veggies, alternating one day half of fibafirst stick, one day 4-5 pellets as you suggested here). Once he hit the magical 2kg I started giving him 1/2…[Read more]

Hi!
I have a 5 almost 6 year old female Holland lop rabbit. In the last few months one of her ears has started to unlop. I have looked inside and it looks clean. Has anyone else had a rabbit whose ear unlopped? Should I take her to the vet?
Thanks!
