Good news from the vet this morning. Luna is still doing well so they are happy for her to come home today. Still two and a half hours to wait but I’m very excited 😁

There’s no way of knowing if she’ll continue to improve or not, we just have to do what we can for her and hope for the best. I already stocked up on some fresh veggies this morning,…[Read more]

Well, would 10:00 pm be a good time? Bc I can’t get up at midnight, I go to bed at 11:15. I will just do it at 10. And I will try a larger bowl. I could hide fresh fruit for them to find, that would be moisture.

Azerane replied to the topic Litter: how much Wood Stove Pellets do you use? in the forum HABITATS AND TOYS 4 years, 7 months ago

<p style=”text-align: left;”>I use wood pellets but I use them in a sifting litter tray. This means that most of the urine is running through and keeping their feet clean. I put a sprinkling of wood pellets in the bottom catch tray, and then a single layer of wood pellets in the sieve tray where they sit. They pull a lot of hay out of the rack…[Read more]

I realize this is a little bit of an old post now, but for a bit more info regarding guinea pigs and rabbits, it would most likely be fine to have them in the same room as long as they aren’t in the same cage or directly interacting. You also probably wouldn’t want them in side-by-side pens.  Transmission of Bordetella is typically from prolonged…[Read more]

    Hi,

After looking at this forum for quite some time – for advice and general queries I decided to join! I have 2 minilops (brother and sister) who are nearly 4 (in March). Their names are Otto and Juno and I absolutely adore them. I’ll attach an image – Otto is on the left and Juno on the right. Although they’re brother and sister, Otto is so…[Read more]

If you have no other option, the safest thing would be to set an alarm and check on them at some point during the night (maybe about midnight?).

A larger bowl will take longer to freeze, so if you fill a large crock with warm water that will buy you more time.

Hi everyone. This is kind of a random question, but how common is it for rabbits to contract food-borne illnesses such as Salmonella, Listeria, and E. coli? I know that there could be a small possibility if a rabbit directly ingested affected produce, but how common would be be for a human owner to spread an infection to their pet rabbit? For…[Read more]

I ordered something very similar, pretty much identical to @LBJ10 ‘s link but it won’t get here until Wed. and unfortunately, insulation and glass bowls won’t work when it is down in the teens. I don’t know what to do because it will freeze the water and I can’t change it during the night. My dad is up around 3 or 4 or 5 am and they are left fo…[Read more]

As a general rule, just don’t make more than a 25 degree Fahrenheit jump at once. Otherwise you should be totally fine!

Yes, I agree. I wouldn’t do that. that would only work if they were used to weather in the 20’s or 30’s.

Its wonderful both for you and your buns that they’ll get to become house buns!

A general rule is that the temperature difference shouldn’t be much more than 10 degrees Celsius between outdoors and indoors when you make this kind of move. Its more important when you move a bun outdoors from indoors in a cold climate and the buns don’t have thick…[Read more]

Recenty i got my bunny an ikea bed and i put a folded blanket on it to act like a mattress, and then the bedsheet on top. The first week or so, my bunny was obsessed with his bed and he loafed and flopped on it alot but yesterday he started biting it and making holes in the bedsheet and he also tugged at the blanket and messed up his whole bed.…[Read more]

Is your bun eating as they should? Especially hay is important for proper gut function. If your bun’s appetite and food consumption is unchanged, there will probably soon be better looking poop.

Misshapen poops like these mean there’s a gut slow-down. It sometimes happens when a bun is shedding. If its coupled with a decrease in appetite,…[Read more]

It sounds like he could be. My Bun Jovi is a REW and tends to “scan” and bobble his head a bit when he is checking out an area too. Most rabbits that are blind get by pretty well without much modification, because they also “see” with their other senses (whiskers, smell, hearing, etc).

I wonder if adding some ramps (with edges so he doesn’t fall…[Read more]
