We got the blood test results, and vet said she’ll be in touch. I have the numbers, but I don’t have the reference, so it’s hard to tell if there’s an issue.
While we were at the vet’s, she did an X-ray at him, and found the sludge in his urine and in the bladder, and she told me she pressed some of it out. When Muffin got home, he was non-stop…[Read more]

I’m at work but I have a Ring camera in my room and he just ran to the litter box, ate some hay and had a bunch of water and then ran back to his hidey house, so I think he’s okay? Just so anxious about this.

Happy New Year everyone!
There are so many exciting things happening for everybody. I hope that your dreams and resolutions will come true! ^_^
We’re counting down the days until Owen and Molly can be reunited on January 24th. We’re all eager for it: they miss each other and are often licking each other through their hutch bars. Bas and I are…[Read more]

Thank you so much, that makes me feel so much better. I woke up this morning and he was totally normal- running around, eating hay, asking for pets, etc. He pooped a bunch this morning, but they were still very small, dry, and light. He also drank a ton of water and ate lots of hay and he peed. He had his yearly exam and first RHDV vaccine a few…[Read more]

I’ve actually heard it’s best to feed freshly rinsed veggies so they get even more water from them.
But yes agree with others, you don’t want to overdo the veg to the point that hay consumption is reduced or the bun gets a tummy ache.

Cooper is bonded and he grooms me more than he grooms Bonnie. I actually wish he would groom her more!

I’m so interested to see if this works with Cooper! I was just eyeing at all the tasty-looking new baseboards and cabinets in our new place LOL.
((I am getting them back tomorrow!!!))

I wonder if simply getting a lower sided litter box will help a lot of your problems. That would make it easy to mount the hay rack over it, and make it easier for the bun to jump in.

Agree that spaying will help, but some buns just love to dig in carpet so that prob wont go away completely. For the carpet, pick up some heavy ceramic tiles from the hardware store (the big 12-14″ ones). You can place them over the trouble spots and that should help a lot, since buns will get obsessed over a particular area.
My carpet-digger…[Read more]

I agree, she’s being a moody teenager! She also sounds like a feisty Nethie, which is why we love em!
What is your daily routine with her like? Most rabbits don’t enjoy being picked up, so if you are picking her up every day that could start to make her upset.
With many rabbits, it works really well to play “hard to get”. Spend time with her,…[Read more]

That’s great they are doing better in the bathroom!!
I agree with Wick, if they are doing well in the current situation, don’t change anything for 24 hours. Then you can try adding a litter box and see how that goes. It’s important that the box is new, or really really clean. If it doesn’t cause issues you are on the right track! If it causes…[Read more]

Great job with them so far!
So, it sounds like they’ve been together for about 3 days straight and they are doing great?
I’ve often struggled with having a “semi neutral” space, so what I’ve usually done is just spent a bit longer in the neutral space just to make sure things are really really cemented with them. If it works out for you, you…[Read more]

I agree with LBJ10. If he’s acting otherwise completely normal then he is probably fine. I actually think light poos are also very healthy, the colour sometimes just indicates what they’ve eaten, lighter usually means more hay consumption whereas darker can suggests richer food consumed. For example if my boy is eating lots of Timothy his poops…[Read more]

Thank you so much. I woke up and he did poop overnight, but they were similar to the small ones that I was finding last night before going to bed. This morning he is running around and eating tons of hay, poops still very light in color and some much smaller than others. Hopefully it will get back to normal soon when he finished molting. I guess…[Read more]

Yeah, I wouldn’t give more veggies than you normally would. But wetting them first certainly won’t hurt anything. I like Bam’s suggestion of breaking them up into smaller portions so they don’t wilt.
