Also make sure bunny is having pain medication as well. Sometimes they will not show any sign but keep it handy

Hey, sorry you are going through this. My bunny Had GI issue which is called cecal dysbiosis(which developed after antibiotics use). My bunny stool also grew small amount of cyniclomyces gutttatus which is a normal yeast in bun’s GI tract. But specialist thought otherwise and wanted to treat it with nystatin but my bunny did not tolerate was…[Read more]

Ellie from The Netherlands replied to the topic Litter: how much Wood Stove Pellets do you use? in the forum HABITATS AND TOYS 4 years, 7 months ago
We change both boxes daily. Our bunnies only go in the rear corners of the boxes. I fill half of the box with pellets and gather it in the corners, then I add a 2 cm layer of hay.
This way they’ll have their feet dry, but we don’t go through a bag of pellets each week.

Our little girl Molly surprised us so much this week, up to the level of “pics or it didn’t happen”. She always was such a timid little thing and only wanted to be petted if she was sitting in a certain corner of her hutch. She just kept trying to groom everyone and everything because she was so insecure.
She loves to sit on the upturned crate…[Read more]

Ellie from The Netherlands started the topic Are they ready to be slowly reintroduced? in the forum BONDING 4 years, 7 months ago
We’re looking to reintroduce our two bunnies Owen and Molly, but we’ve got 0.0 experience in bonding, and we’d like to go about this carefully. Are they ready for a slow reintroduction?
Background:
Owen and Molly are littermates and dwarf rabbits. We had to separate them on the second day after arriving here, because Owen was mounting her at…[Read more]

She also said that I could feed him some orchard hay to give him some variety, so I just bought an orchard/Timothy mix from Oxbow.

Hi everyone! I posted a thread about a week ago because my 2.5 year old neutered male lionhead was having different sized fecal pellets. Well, on Friday he seemed to be feeling uncomfortable, so I took him to his primary vet. Everything looked normal on his exam, so she gave him some subcutaneous fluids and sent me home. He ended up passing a huge…[Read more]

@Glenn: Haha, that’s so relatable! They’re such terribly picky characters 😆
My boyfriend’s previous rabbit Waffie was a very dainty lady who hated getting any dew or soil on her fur. She put one paw over the threshold to check the weather, and refused to go outside if the grass was still covered with dew. Then she spent minutes washing her…[Read more]

This could be debated, I think. He could be feeling protective over her, or of you (hey, mom, I exist too you know!) or he could just want whatever she’s getting. Meloxicam is often honey-flavored, which rabbits seem to really like.
(Keep in mind that rabbits can get a bit grumpy for some time after a spay, while their body and brain are still…[Read more]

Thank you for your replies 💗
I’m going to try blocking top of the cage, so that he can’t jump there. Really hoping this would help😬
Also I didn’t even know it could take couple weeks or even more for this to go away. It would have been nice, if the vet had told about this, and I didn’t even thought of asking about the peeing then 😅…

Thanks for the reply Azerane!
Yes I am a little worried about how her kidneys will get on with daily meds. Unfortunately without meds she would literally barely move and limp a lot, she also did not flop much and now usually in the evening after her dose of loxicom she will spend her time playing or flopped so it does definitely seem like some…[Read more]

Today I’ve realised that Glenn and Bella both have different ‘favourite hays’……
Typical persons expectation= ‘rabbits are cheap pets’
Reality = several different flavours of hay at anyone time and a bunny who will refuse brocoli unless it is tenderstem or purple sprouting brocoli, refuse kale unless it’s cavolo nero or purple kale and…[Read more]

Awww lol, bunny girl and Mrs. Rabbit both seem like pretty good titles to me! Just shows your love for bunnies does not go unoticed!
I have not had anyone call me a rabbit lady yet but when I meet new people be it friend or work colleagues they will often have seen a photo of my rabbits within the first day lol

I just had the doe of my bonded pair spayed. I give her pain meds every 24 hours. I sit inside their enclosure and she doesn’t struggle too much when I give it to her. But she definitely doesn’t like it.
I noticed my buck digging at me and trying to bite me ( he can’t actually bite because he has no front incisors due to a bad malocclusion and t…[Read more]

That’s what happened with my bun’s toenail. It broke off and grew back crooked, but then eventually grew out and went back to normal, so that was a relief! ♡

Bam replied to the topic Broken toenail 🙁 in the forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A 4 years, 7 months ago
I doubt he’ll get an infection. They rarely do. Some buns have brittle nails that break easily, but most (if not all) buns that lead an active life will break a nail at one time or another. Sometimes the nail grows back all crooked. I had a bun with a crooked toenail, I don’t know what had happened because it was like that when I got him, but it…[Read more]

Cinnamon Bun replied to the topic My Bunny needs surgery ! in the forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A 4 years, 7 months ago
I’m so sorry you’re going through this – it sounds so hard and stressful. I’m no health expert, but if the vet thinks that he requires surgery to amputate the ear and he’ll live a long, loving life after this, then maybe that’s the best option, no matter how hard it may be. It’s clear that you love him beyond the universe… so hold on and be…[Read more]

Extra lovin’to your bun.
I had a dog rip a nail completely out and I have done the same after slamming my toe into something. Wow, the pain is unreal…took me 20 minutes to walk 20 feet!
Extra goodies seem to be in order.🥰
