Does she chew on fabric? I wonder if you could place some folded up towels near the box to make a low step to make it a bit easier?
And lots of rabbits like to hang out in their litter box. Mine have been pretty indifferent about most beds, they either pee on them or ignore them lol

I’m so sorry to hear about this. You have definitely set-up the best foundation, which is getting that imaging work done and having a clear understanding of the cause-and-effect behind what you observed. I have no personal experience nor do I have an idea of recommended treatments. Generally, it seems like treating symptoms as they arise and…[Read more]

I agree with Wick, skipping occasionally will not cause issues as long as she’s a good hay eater (a lot of people only feed veg once a day anyway). She may look at you very expectantly at her normal veggie time though 😉

She could need a different antibiotic. Do you think you could do a culture to see if another antibiotic would be better? And sometimes they do take a very long course to fully clear the infection.

Thanks for sharing your set-up photos! Always nice to see creative ways people work with their space and what they have.
Considering the size of the litterboxes, I would definitely encourage putting in more hay, and also note that a water bowl is generally recommended over a water bottle.
You can see here for information on recommended rabbit…[Read more]

@Gregoire , that is an ongoing issue with the forum we are trying to sort out. The workaround that Moonshadow described should work though!

With my bun, I believe the shots were every other day, but I can’t quite remember (I did them at home, and it wasn’t too bad once I got the hang of it). He handled them really well. He went back to eating right after he woke up (he also had a molar extraction), I think he must have felt better with that rotten tooth out of there. Towards the end…[Read more]

What is the quality and amount of discharge you see? What symptoms were occurring prior to starting medication (i.e., was there sneezing) and what is still there (i.e., is there still sneezing?).
In short, if there were typical URI symptoms prior to Baytril, like colored discharge, excessive sneezing, etc., and now there is no sneezing and the…[Read more]

Thanks for taking the time to provide all those details — admittedly, I only skimmed after reading the introduction of the two rabbits because the reason why bonding is so difficult is that you are trying to bond to male rabbits who are hormonal. Two un-neutered males is the most dangerous combination to put together.
I would pause all attempts…[Read more]

I’m not sure if this has anything to do with it, but I am now remembering that before I went on vacation (2-3 weeks ago) I gave him some banana and carrot, which he hasn’t had in a few months. Could that have been enough to throw things off and allow the yeast to overgrow and now he just needs some time on a bland diet to get things back to normal?

So I got 2 male bunnies comet and asteroid. And bonding them is difficult. Just everything been difficult. Litter training, ect. So I got comet first he’s rex so pretty big compared to dwarf asteroid so he steps on him when he tries to mount and asteroid doesn’t like that typically runs.
Comet History. He is about a yr old, unneutered, I had…[Read more]

Thank you so much. I’ve seen a reduction in the mushy, unformed poop, but he’s still having excess cecotropes that seem to get “stuck.” I just felt like if it was an anatomical issue, it would be causing a lot more significant problems by now. Overnight, his poops are literally flawless. I’m still feeding him pellets, so many be I need to put hi…[Read more]

Hey, Do not get stressed. I hope there is nothing wrong anatomy-wise. Have you seen any improvement yet in terms of reduction of the big mushy poop and more normal poop?
I think it’s taking time for him to get back to his normal flora. If you think he raises his tail and is in pain, a short-term low dose safe pain medication might be beneficial…[Read more]

As long as it is returned in a small quantity, skipping veggies will not cause gastric distress. It is the sudden introduction of something new/disagreeing that will most likely cause upset. Since she should be eating primarily hay (and pellets due to age), her GI will be fine without cilantro for the time being.

Hi!
I’m a new bunny owner and I’ve had my sweet girl for a month (she’s 3 months old). I started feeding her cilantro as a starter veggie for her to eat at 11 weeks and I’ve gotten to the point where I’m feeding her a good amount twice a day, morning and night (but no where close to 1 cup since she’s still young haha). I noticed this morning…[Read more]

Hi all! This is my first post so please let me know if my etiquette isn’t up to standards.

I would avoid soy regardless of gmo or not.
Look for food with no fillers…soy, corn, wheat, etc.
Man, back in the day, rabbit food was just hay and vitamins/minerals. Today you have to be vigilant about reading labels! 🤔
