I believe you are reading from this statement: “This product is not intended for growing, active, pregnant or nursing rabbits.”
I think it’s just a catch-all they are putting generally speaking where any rabbit that would be needing a higher density of nutrients for some sort of medical or life-span related reason. I would not be concerned about…[Read more]

Thanks! Funny enough, just a bit ago I attached a water bowl that is meant to go onto a dog crate. It fit on the grids of her cage so I am hoping that will work! As for the mats, she would chew on them some before getting spayed but stopped after her spay. I have coroplast under them just in case any pee or water goes through. They’re really easy…[Read more]

Does the skin under the fur look normal (no redness or flaking)?

Hmmm, not sure where you saw that they aren’t recommended for “active” buns, and I’m also confused by what they would mean by active?
I fed that food for many years, it’s a good all around food with a good nutrition profile. Unless your bun is losing or gaining weight, I don’t think you need to worry. And even then, usually it helps to just…[Read more]

Hi!
I have been feeding my bunny Oxbow’s adult essentials since I got her, basically. The shelter had been giving her alfalfa pellets and I slowly weened her off those, since she is for sure older than 8 months now (the vet thinks she is closer to 1.5 yrs).
I just saw that these pellets are not recommended for “active” bunnies..what exactly…[Read more]

The main things are pain meds, and be prepared to syringe feed if they don’t start eating on their own by the evening. Sometimes buns just need one or two syringe feedings to perk them up, and then they feel much better. 🙂
Having some favorite fragrant herbs on hand also can help entice them to eat on their own.

For buns that like tossing their water bowls around, I recommend using heavy ceramic bowls with a metal stand. I have it for my baby bun and he doesn’t toss his bowls around, anymore. Does she chew the puzzle mats, by the way? ♡

I don’t think there are any miracle interventions — just time and ensuring you are providing the best environment for recovery, so one that has plenty of easy access to hay and that is restricted with good flooring. Pain…[Read more]

The perks of working from home, Bas had a lovely view this morning. The whole fluffle was lounging together:

We bought a new carpet last weekend because Molly had a slight irritation under her hock.
This carpet is much softer and much larger too. The buns have more space to socialise, and it’s so soft that I can sit on the floor for a couple…[Read more]

She does indeed have a water bowl and a bottle. She likes both but has a tendency to enjoy flipping her water bowl over and playing with it. The bottle ensures she always has water, even when being a turkey butt. 🙂

@Maria2022– Okay, this makes sense! This was very helpful. Aaaww, you’re not paranoid, it’s still good to wash your hands properly when you’ve been outside just in case of any germs and bacteria. Thanks! ♡

I have a purebred netherland dwarf, and what is believed to be a false netherland dwarf. My false netherland dwarf had a lot of the same body features. He weighs around 3 pounds. My purebred weights about 2.6. Features of false netherland dwarfs are longer ears, less round heads, and not as compact bodies. I believe he is a false netherland dwarf.…[Read more]

Hey all,
I dropped my 2 buns off for their spay and neuter this morning ( I have a 1 year old Holland lop female named Beatrice and a 4 month old Holland lop male named Bernard). I was wondering if anyone had any tips or suggestions for after care? I’ve read pretty much every website and watched a ton of videos so I think I’m all set but is the…[Read more]

Cinnamon Bun, immune systems are different species to species. Some viruses target some receptors in the human immune system, those receptors might not be susceptible in bunnies or other animals. However, if you modify a virus genetically and make it susceptible to the receptors of bunnies then definitely yes, they will be infected.
This Covid…[Read more]

<p>@Wick&Fable and @LBJ10 – If none of the buns became sick or showed any symptoms even in those COVID-19 lab experiments, then why are we still recommended to wear masks around our bunnies and take precautions?! And if they can be infected with the virus, then why is it that they don’t become sick or show any symptoms? Sure, they can carry the…[Read more]
