My rabbits are harness trained but I don’t let them outside on it ( which was why I harnessed trined them ). There were too many hawks for it to be safe. I would worry with that backpack that he would chew the mesh. Like dananm said check on the RHDV2. A pen would be good but I think a stroller would be safer because there would be less of a…[Read more]

Thank you so much for your kind words and for reading my lengthy post, it really means a lot to me today to hear that.
It’s just so hard I’m not sure I will ever get over the fact I hadn’t seen him at all in the days prior. but you are right he was getting older and I’d have hated for him to become seriously ill again or anything. He did…[Read more]

oh and if anyone wonders the story behind their names, honeybunny was honeybunny (honey for short) when we thought he was a girl and I tried and tried to change it but nothing else suited him! so it stayed ever since <3
and Elliott is a chocolate otter mini lop so my mom named ‘her’ Ella originally as in Nutella, then when we realised ‘she’ too…[Read more]

I think you made the right decision. The vet would have known if they would likely recover even more tha we do and they agreed with your decision. Sometimes the stress of the procedures when there is little they can reasonably be expected to achieve just causes more suffering and you spared your rabbit the stress of being there without you. Oh my gosh, I am so so sorry for your loss. What a hard time you’ve been through. 🙁
Please please do not feel guilt over this (I know easier said than done). I lost a bun at 9 too, and I felt like it was all my fault as well, but 9 is actually a nice old age for a bunny, and it sounds like his age was starting to catch up to him, with the set of…[Read more]

You sound like a caring person with a good conscience. I’m sure we have all made mistakes but i agree with the others it’s very likely that you didnt cause a heart attack. I remember litter training my rabbit and it can be very stressful. I hope you can find it in your heart to be forgiving to yourself and as compassionate to yourself as you would…[Read more]

That’s great! Awesome he’s a good hay eater, it helps with teeth, boredom, and just overall bunny health.
And ooh my buns like yucca stuff too! They LOVE balsa wood but they eat it so fast I can only get them as a special treat. I just can’t rationalize paying several dollars for a small piece of wood they will eat in 30 seconds LOL

Hello again
I’m not sure if you all remember me and boo as you have been such a great comfort and support to me through my rabbits illness over the last 2 years.
We are coming to the end and seem to only have days left. I’m having to consider euthanasia and I have never had to do it before and feel so unprepared.
I dont want to let her down…[Read more]

How RUDE of them!
I think it’s prob more likely that Molly is hitting puberty, and Owen is picking up on her hormones? The timing checks out for sure with her age.

First off, I don’t think there is any shame in rehoming, and I think it’s very admirable of you to recognize where you may not be able to give the best care. It sounds like there are a lot of options for this in your area, so that’s great.
All of that said, it sounds like you really love this bun and would like to keep him if possible. If you are…[Read more]

Thank you, DanaNM. Bunbun does really well with eating his hay. I have to replenish it, sometimes, twice a day. I did, actually, find a toy that he IS chewing on!!! It’s a yucca log. I guess I just wasn’t giving him the right toys.

(FYI I edited your post to remove the link and put in the picture instead)
So, the consensus is that harnesses can be pretty dangerous for rabbits. If they spook or struggle while wearing one, they can injure their back. If a bun is really well trained they can be OK, but there are safer alternatives.
The backpack looks fine, the main concern…[Read more]

Hello,
I adopted my bunny a couple days ago, he is a dwarf bunny and I love him a lot. His name is Teddy and he is very sweet and curious. I struggle with severe depression and anxiety along with PTSD. Teddy has helped my depression because waking up and seeing him makes me really happy. I live in a student house and am currently in University.…[Read more]

I actually quite certain of asteroid’s sex, I did look up unisex rabbits to be sure. But I meant I was unsure if he could be neutered or was recently neutered before I got him ,was because, his male parts look dead.I could be wrong and he’s fine just old or always cold. I’m a woman l idk that stuff when comes to my own species let alone bunnies.…[Read more]

Maybe it’s better to ask this question in the members only section of the forum. I have a question: can bunnies react aggressively to a woman’s cycle?
Suddenly, out of the blue, I got bitten by both Owen AND Molly yesterday! My sweet little Mollymolly who is so timid that she tries to be friends with the furniture… 😥

It’s great to hear of alternative therapies such as cold laser! I will keep this in mind as a possible treatment after the meds.
And yes I thibk I will give the oxbow supplements a go as even with the pain meds she a lot better but still a little limpy now and again

I’m in at 13 points with that list!
I do have a few extra bonus crazy bun person things not on the list… I love bunny art and my coffee table coasters all have wild rabbits on them, same with my tea-coffee-sugar tins, a couple framed photos of the buns around- need to get a framed one of our new addition Bella!
