There could definitely be a health issue. Unaltered bunnies will often bite each other’s privates, especially when there’s mounting involved, so maybe he had an injury or something?. I would definitely get them checked out by a vet, you will need to anyway at some point to have the surgery. Vets typically require a health check prior to anesthesia.

I’m not quite sure what you’re describing. Does he completely fall over? Or is he pushing your hand backward with his head?

I got my rabbit about 1 week ago we have bonded very quickly and he seems very comfortable around me. But for the last 3 day every time I put my rabbit on me chest and stroke him (near the beginning of his ears) he falls back with me hand, I thought there was something wrong but he only does it when I’m standing up and he doesn’t do it to anyo…[Read more]

LBJ10 replied to the topic When to neuter? in the forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A 4 years, 6 months ago
If he has his jewels, then you’re technically good to go. Boys can be neutered as soon as their testicles drop. If he’s super tiny, the vet may want to wait until he is a little bigger. But that really depends on the vet and how confident they are neutering a rabbit.

Hello!
We brought home an unaltered young male yesterday. He is set up in our bathroom . Our bunny, Pom Pom, is free range. So we are keeping him away from the bathroom door. Today he ran past us to the door to sniff. We called that a positive interaction and restricted his access.
Question: can this new bunny be let out into our garden to s…[Read more]

Personally, I love to go for car rides when things regress in bonding. I also like to lay both buns between my legs and kind of squeeze them together while I pet them. If one tries to leave, just keep your hand on top of them. Table bonding, or laying both bunnies on a table while petting them has similar results. Banana on the forehead to…[Read more]

DanaNM’s advice is excellent and I can’t add much to it, but I do hear your overwhelm. It’s true that bunny vet bills can be expensive and I’d hate for you and Teddy to be in a stressful situation where you fear you can’t afford whatever it is that he needs done (if the good advice Dana gave doesn’t feel like it would cover it in your…[Read more]

Welcome to BB! This thread is from 2018. I don’t think we have heard from this member since, so we don’t know what the outcome was. If you have questions about bonding, you are welcome to start your own thread. I’m going to lock this thread so as to not cause confusion. We try to discourage people from reviving old threads.

I’m following this because I’m in a similar situation. My bunny lost her eye recently and I’d like to bond her.

Yes, sometimes if you use your fingers to pick at the mats, they just think you’re grooming their face (like another rabbit would).

Sadly I don’t have any painkillers. He’s been pooping normally, he would still get up to eat hay but then he just lays. I’m a little bit unsure about giving him more pellets (even though I would really like to), but the vet strictly said just 1 spoon, not more, because of live regeneration.
Until today he was at least eating lettuce, too, but…[Read more]

I would give a little more pellets – not as much as before, but it’s best to wean a rabbit slowly. They could starve if the’re suddenly put on nearly all hay. Do you have a painkiller for him? If he is grinding his teeth he is in pain.

Hello!
My bunny (8 months old) was diagnosed with coccidiosis after changing a vet. The previous assured me he doesn’t have it. Even though he had symptoms, she still didn’t make any examination on it.
Recently his health got worse. He’s always been having troubles with gaining weight and drinking too much water (which they told me was okay) and…[Read more]
