    Hey!

Just wanted to chime in to say what your experiencing is relatively normal. I’m not a bonding expert but I successfully bonded my bunnies a few weeks ago (with a lot of amazing help from this forum!) .

I had pretty much the same problem except my girl also nipped my boy a lot and everything was stagnant for a fair while. It took persistance…[Read more]

My bunny Milo passed away on October 24th, as some of you might know already from my previous posts he had Pasteurella for about a year prior that never fully went away I did manage to keep it in a controlled state though with using Echinacea. His eyes every once in a while would start to get gooky/red and irritated and I began to see what looked…[Read more]

This is the best purchase I’ve ever made for him.  He LOVES these things.  Especially the cups ,because I have to sit there and stack them up for him to knock over, time and time again.   And he absolutely loves that honey pot container, knocking it around, rattling it, and carrying it in his mouth.  So nice to see him playing, happy, and not bored.

Bladesmith replied to the topic BUNNY KEEPS DIGGING LITTER in the forum BEHAVIOR 4 years, 6 months ago

Being burrowers, rabbits dig.  And dig WELL.  It’s a natural instinct, no cure for it.  Some dig more than others.  If I can make a suggestion, try getting your bun a sturdy cardboard box (Food grade, make sure it hasn’t held chemical products or cleaners), and half fill it with semi shredded cardboard strips and shredded paper, and let them go…[Read more]

It sounds like you have a lot of positive things to work with.

Can you describe the bonding space a little? is it very neutral? I gather you are using a very small space based off the picture?

If so, I recommend experimenting with the space, and try a larger area, and be sure it’s as neutral as possible. Larger spaces allow them to interact more…[Read more]

Happy anniversary to you all!  And what is it about little buns wanting to stand on your shoulders?  Dawn used to do it all the time.  Didn’t want to be held, but would demand shoulder sitting.

Bam replied to the topic How do you encourage bunny to eat hay? in the forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A 4 years, 6 months ago

I’m sorry you lost one of your buns.

Glenn is right, the main thing to do is to reduce food that isn’t hay. Do it somewhat slowly – rabbits that suddenly are put on an all hay diet can either refuse to eat the hay, leading to stasis, or actually starve even if they eat the hay because their GI system aren’t used to breaking down hay to get the…[Read more]

    Hey!

Sorry to hear your stuggling with hay consumption and im very sorry for the loss of your other bunny.

Lack of hay consumption can be a problem noticed by a lot of bunny owner its seems.

One if my buns never consumed enough hay but now eats it in heaps! The main thing that worked for us was reducing pellets. I dont know your buns situation…[Read more]

Thank you both so much! Thats super helpful!

That link is great Wick, i will definitely try the cornstarch bath!

And the YouTube video is very helpful Dana!

I guess a wet bath is something I could consider periodically for her, although im not really sure how to tell what would warrant a wet bum bath. She does get pretty much soiled down her…[Read more]

I agree with LBJ. Meibomian cysts often don’t bother the patient, if it does, or start to increase in size, you can have it lanced. Humans can get meibomian cysts as well and they tend to go away after a few weeks without surgical intervention.

It should come naturally, right? Well, both our bunnies (one died last week) refuse eating hay. We have switched out different brands but they won’t nibble on hay. I just got new and expensive timothy hay from a local farmer but Ben won’t eat it. I have caught him nibbling a strand or two but that’s about it. The bonded bunny who died also rarely…[Read more]

Bam replied to the topic First GI Stasis episode in the forum DIET & CARE 4 years, 6 months ago

I agree stasis is a symptom and the root cause tends to lie elsewhere.

I have used TMZ (it’s called Bactrim here) for a lower respiratory infection in a rabbit. He got oral Bactrim, twice per day for 2 weeks. He also got terbutaline for 5 days to help with breathing, I had to dissolve pills for human children to get the proper dose. The vet is…[Read more]
