my rabbit was spayed today and we just brought her home about an hour ago. she’s been drinking water but not eating. i offered her banana (her favorite) and some lettuce but she just turns her head away. the vet wouldn’t give me pain medicine even after i asked multiple times. they said she got a shot during the surgery to help with the pain, but…[Read more]

He is the tiny man that needed to come into ur lives to help us over the loss of my dear sweet angels last year.
we are still working on picking up which he isnt a fan of but as we all know, these are delicate and sensitive little creatures that take…[Read more]

Hi everyone! I’m asking these questions out of curiosity, because I didn’t know much about unbonding before adding more bunnies to the home and would like to know more to prevent it from happening.

What exactly causes bunnies to “unbond” when new bunnies are added to the household? I’ve seen a lot of Instagram posts lately about this exact…[Read more]

    Hi all,

This is my first time bonding rabbits! Beatrice is a 1 and a half year old Holland lop female who is free roam and Bernard is a 6 month old Holland lop male who is in a large pen in my living room. We have had Bernard for 4 months now and his pen has been in different spots of the living room where Beatrice has full access to. So far…[Read more]

I don’t see any crust. It just looks flaky. It could be mites or it could just be dry skin. Is she molting at all?

I expanded the area, and Rosie is definitely more comfortable interacting and running away from Bo, when he starts to hump too much. It’s been two days since expanding and I do see that they are having more positive interactions, sharing food, water, toys and litter box, flopping and still sleeping next to each other peacefully.

    They both bow t…[Read more]

I’ve attached a pic of the back of my bunny’s ear, although this problem is on both of them. It’s only on the back and she doesn’t have crust inside her ear. It feels dry and looks flaky. Any idea what this could be???

    Hello!

I recently adopted  a bunny (1 Year old Female lop). Her previous owner was loving and just couldn’t keep her anymore, I adopted her and it all started great. She was even doing binkys and flopping near me after a day or so!

But her owner did mention she hates being picked up (and that sounds obvious but I soon found out what she me…[Read more]

Roses are safe for rabbits. Flowers, leaves and stems. I often give my buns rose leaves and petals in the summer.

My understand is rose is safe, so ideally the leaves would be as well, but I’m struggling to find that stated explicitly somewhere… you can explore the lists here to see if you can find your exact flower: https://wabbitwiki.com/wiki/Vegetables

I would not go directly to call and re-schedule the spay– I would just call to inquire. It is likely…[Read more]

i have a rosier miniature rose plant in my room, my rabbit got up on the table while i was gone and it looks like she ate 3 or 4 of the leaves. does anyone know if those are safe for rabbits? she’s getting spayed tomorrow and now im worried that she may get an upset stomach so i dont know if i should reschedule.

24/7 free-roam, while great, is not always plausible nor safe for all rabbits and set-ups. If you are unable to safely rabbit-proof your entire space, then I recommend creating a spacious x-pen enclosure for them to be in while you are sleeping/cannot supervise instead.

A destructive rabbit is simply an active rabbit (barring any distress-related…[Read more]

Litterboxes would be the next consideration instead of hidey holes (since that can be a place they may corner each other and you cannot intervene quickly). Any addition of litterboxes can facilitate territorial aggression, so I would not introduce them unless you feel things are going positively reliably.

Flooring can be tough — typically a cheap, soft, low-ply rug works best. You can see some example enclosures and their flooring, along with some parameters here: https://wabbitwiki.com/wiki/Housing
