I’m glad she’s back to normal!

If she’s due for a check-up anyway, I don’t think a vet visit could hurt. But it does sound like maybe the blanket could have had something to do with it.

You could also get advice from the vet on what to do in the future. They may be able to provide you with metacam and/or fluids to give at home as a first if she…[Read more]

Usually cones are not used for rabbits for this reason. They can be really stressful for the bun as well. Did your vet explicitly tell you to use one for her? Was she bothering her sutures? You could try taking it off periodically for her to eat the cecals, and then put it back on when she’s unsupervised?

The usual guidelines are to keep buns from jumping or running for at least a few days so they don’t pull suture.

If he hasn’t eaten by the evening before you go to bed you should syringe feed him. Some buns just need a syringe feeding or two to perk back up after anesthesia.

    Hey y’all! Me again

So Jumping Jack just got spayed. She is wearing the cone, which has been difficult but manageable. Up until the cecotropes

We were having difficulties going in the litterbox. I took the top off, and now she’ll go in there for the 2nd cycle turds, but with cecotropes, she just plops them out on the floor. And since she has the…[Read more]

Hm, this is from my mobile, and I can see your profile picture fine. Have you tried logging in and back out of BB, and have you tried clearing all your internet cookies and cache? Are you on Apple products or Windows?

Thought it might be a temporary glitch,ย  but can’t seem to post on my laptop or phone.ย  I usually do it via the photos in in my profile and then select add media and add it to post, but when I click photos I just get the below. I can see my existing photos in add media, but have never been able to add that way. Also can not see anyone else’s p…[Read more]

For the first couple days yes, restriction is recommended so he does not accidentally strain and disrupt the wound healing.

Okey thanx..yeah I keep parsley around as a treat anyway..I’ll definitely take a pic of his incisionย and keep an eye..I don’t have to keep him from running around, I assumed I would for atleast a few days cause he could hurt his incision or something if he jumps up?

You don’t have to keep him in an x-pen for several days, unless your vet specifically tells you to. And I do think he’ll eat, but its wise to be prepared for if he doesn’t want to eat. Some fragrant herbs (parsley, cilantro etc) can often help spark an appetite.

Hi @hiphopbunny! How’s the trio doing?

I suspected that he might be,ย  and his meeting with Theo enforced it. He just wants to be friends. It will be interesting how he does with the next bun, especially since that meeting is at the shelter. Hope the noise there doesn’t make him too nervous.

Don’t worry I will be posting all the updates! And…[Read more]

I am so sorry for your loss! ๐Ÿ™ <3

Grief tends to makes us all look for someone to blame, someone to hatch all of the anger and pain on. And more often than not, that person who we choose to condemn is ourselves. “What if there was something I could’ve done better” “What if I hadn’t done _____,ย  would they would still be alive”, etc. You can’t…[Read more]

Oh wow! ๐Ÿ˜€ This is definitely exciting news! Dorian seems like the type of bun to get along with everyone, so it will be interesting to see who he ends up choosing. ๐Ÿ™‚

A young male generally copes very well. Its a quick and minimally invasive surgical procedure..With adequate pain relief he’s unlikely to be interested in his surgical incicions. You should make sure he eats sth before you go to bed the night after his neuter. You can also give him a warm waterbottle, but he must have space enough to move away…[Read more]

So for the past four days Silver’s been acting and eating normally. She’s not showing any signs at all that something is/was wrong. I know that rabbits can try to hide their pain or discomfort, but she’s not giving off even the slightest sign of anything amiss. Maybe she ingested too much material from her…[Read more]
