I’m very sorry. It sounds like your bun could have gastrointestinal bloat. It is very serious. Here is an article on bloat and treatment for bloat:

Is there an actual blockage? Or is it just gas build up and stasis?

I’d keep massaging his stomach and try to give him a bit of water. Really hope he pulls through

Thank you for your responses. I took him to the vet last night. He has GI stasis and the gas is pressing upon his lungs and causing pain and difficulty breathing. The vet gave me simethicone drops and an herb based motility tonic. He took x-rays and showed the blockage. I am feeding him Critical care but he is not swallowing half of it opting to…[Read more]

Hello! I’ve read this forum a lot but I’ve never posted!
I have two Holland Lops (one is a mini), both boys and both neutered. Beanie is one year old, and Mochi(the mini) is around 7 months and was neutered almost exactly one month ago. I’ve just now started the bonding process and I’m confused on Mochi’s behavior. Neither has shown any…[Read more]

Thank you so much for responding. I really like the suggestion of 30 seconds in the beginning and only starting immediately petting them both when they get close to each other.
My only issue is that Pumba is foster to adopt and we have about 2.5 weeks left of the fostering before we have to decide whether to adopt him or not. I won’t be d…[Read more]

Thank you for your kind words Bam and Dana!
Im sorry you both also went through a similar instance of loosing bunnies when the outcome may have been different if circumstances weres a little different. I do wish our furry friends weren’t so good at hiding and playing down their illness.
It was a shock for us too, after Glenn’s first wife passed…[Read more]

I definitely recommend spraying water or a dustpan to help diffuse fights! My boys have been a long bond and it has helped to stop things before someone really gets hurt. Tornados can definitely set back bonding a lot more than just a nip or something like that. I wouldn’t be too worried though, most rabbits can bond together, some just take more…[Read more]

I don’t think this means they won’t bond, but it does mean you will need to put in a bit more effort! My first pair (in my avatar) was like this, and it took a while to bond them, but then they were SUPER tightly bonded and were obsessed with each other once they finally clicked.
Since you have only had Pumba home a week, I would slow things down…[Read more]

Yes, that’s called a molt line, buns get those when they’re molting. Some buns even get bald spots when they molt.
