Yes they are. They have put her on IV yesterday with pain meds inside. They gave her cisapride and simethicone by mouth, and syringe fed her critical care a few times yesterday as she is not interested in hay or the critical care on a plate. I don’t know if they have given her pepcid or vit b.
This is the same vet that did the spay. Do you think…[Read more]

Bam replied to the topic Why is hay dark green? in the forum DIET & CARE 4 years, 4 months ago
Very green hay often means its been harvested early in the sesson and brought in very soon after cutting, then been fan-dried in barns. This has both advantages and disadvantages. Hay that’s been left out to dry in the sun for 5 days has higher levels of vitamin D, and some say sun-drying makes the hay a less ideal growth medium for aspergillus…[Read more]

I change Glenns once a day in the evening, rise it out a couple times and then refill, I will give it a ‘deep clean’ once a week. When I have 2 buns I have 2 bowls of water, rinse and fill once a day and deep clean twice a week because the double traffic makes them a bit more grimy

Bam replied to the topic Male rabbit acting strange- spring fever? in the forum BEHAVIOR 4 years, 4 months ago
It could be spring fever. Rabbits really become markedly more active in the spring. Do you see any marking poop or peeing away from the box?
Some of it makes me think teeth problems -excessive chewing of non food plus not flopping could mean some sort of discomfort/pain. Being grumpy and nippy and not flopping could also be a sign of some kind …[Read more]

<p class=”p1″>I have 2 rabbits that been bonded together for the past few months and they are sharing a room together. My rabbit Harper (male) has been acting out for the past week or 2. I haven’t seen him do any flops or binkys, but he does lay down on his tummy. He has been super destructive which isn’t typically like him. He’s been chewin…[Read more]

Hi all! I got my second female Flemish Giant about a month ago, she is 14 weeks (born in Christmas). She is doing well adjusting, though not bonded with my 2 y.o princess bun yet but they are making progress.
She very much is secure around me/my partner/my cats. She runs up to check in and boop while she’s out, she jumps into my lap for food, a…[Read more]

I buy Oxbow Timothy Hay. The hay has always been the light green hay (on left) but the last bag I bought ended up being the dark green hay (on right).
Is this hay just a different cutting? My bunnies have smaller poops and one has diarrhea after eating the darker green hay.

Update because I didnt see rhis post till now 😅 They are pretty well bonded, he still mounts her once in a while but its not relentless.. they groom eachother and play, although ive noticed holland isnt eating as much anymore and I was wondering if it has something to do with her or if it would be unrelated?

I have four water bowls because Luna has kidney disease and drinks a lot. I usually rinse/wipe and refill two bowls each day, then do the other two the next day.

😃😃😃
I once heard my bun Yohio fart, it was just a quiet shoo-shoo-shoo. He weighed around 3 kilos (6 lb). I knew it was a fart because it smelled like a fart. 🤣

I just recently adopted a bonded pair from a rescue after being dumped in a park, fostered and then taken in by a family and returned. They finally have a forever home with us where they have a wonderfully large x-pen area and are free roam when we are at home.
I have had 3 buns over the last 16 years and they have all been at most 4 pounds or…[Read more]

I’m sorry you had to take her on, but Im so glad you did.
Reglan and cisapride work on different parts of the gut, and those two drugs can be combined.
Pepcid is good for ulcer-prevention. It’s important when you give meloxicam because meloxicam can be hard on the stomach lining.
The vets will probably give sub q fluids with vitamin b.
Are…[Read more]

I give new water once per day. I also rotate waterbowls so I can run them in the dishwasher. (Some people might find that gross, but I dont).

I typically don’t change my rabbits water, but add to it to make sure it is full. I will rinse out the bowl if I notice there is a lot of fur getting in it or if it looks grimy. Once a week I will soak the bowls in vinegar water and wash them completely.

I’m just curious how often you guys change your bunnies water; My research told me that you should change your bunnies water at least twice a day (and rinse the water bowl while your changing the water, I also wipe it with a clean wash cloth), once in the morning and once at night. I try to do it 9 AM (though often times I’m late) and 9 PM…[Read more]

Thank you Barn for getting back to me so quickly! It has been a stressful few days and very bad night last night.
We got her after a rescuer found her on the side of a walking trail. And we took her to the vet pretty quickly after. Before that, the foster family said that she ate like a champ. She had a major shut down after the surgery and we…[Read more]
