It looks like a pea size has been cut off from the top of her nose it doesn’t affect her breathing but I will try to get her checked out by the vet and will use the triple antibiotic ointment like you said and the vetericyn spray

I just wanted to add that buns can have the dandelion stalks as well as the leaves and flowers. The stalks have very good fiber. People wouldn’t eat them because theyre very bitter.
The roots are actually very healthy too.
Dandelion is a diuretic and can color pee orange-red, so dont be alarmed if you see that.
I had a loud purrer, the bun in…[Read more]

Thanks for the advice both! I applied it yesterday, giving her dandelion leaf mainly interspersed with lots of encouraging grass and some pellets, I also gave her a tiny bit of fennel! I tried a bit myself when preparing it and was surprised to find it tastes like licorice lol.
She appears to be doing a lot better now and has bounced back quite…[Read more]

Is there an actual chunk missing? If so, then you should have a vet look at it. Deep wounds can become infected easily. If it’s superficial, then you can try cleaning the wound with a bunny-safe antiseptic. Vetericyn is safe to use. You can use a triple antibiotic ointment on it as well. Plain Neosporin (no pain reliever) is safe. Here is a list…[Read more]

I have 2 rabbits Lola & Daisy. Lola I got spayed recently and are both separated in my room so Lola’s incision can heal. I have one of those dog playpen gates that I am keeping her in while daisy can roam around my room. I was out for a little bit & I came back to see daisy’s nose bleeding! Lola must’ve nipped her nose through the gate and it wa…[Read more]

It sounds like it could “just” be molting then. Willow leaves have natural pain relieving properties. Sometimes they are enticing to bunnies that are reluctant to eat. Dried leaves are handy to have around for that reason. Plus most bunnies enjoy them just because.

Nothing new, dandelion and salad mix. They are at the end of the salad mix, and both had this batch of dandelions yesterday as well (they were from a neighbor, but they were washed well and I made sure nothing not dandelion) . Dorian had more snacks than he is supposed to because he ate Miu’s, but nothing crazy, just a piece of dried s…[Read more]

It’s possible. Unless it was something they both ate that caused them to get gassy?

thank you both for the help!!
her poop is mostly back to normal now. the other day i realized that she’s shedding some near her tail which is the one place that i dont brush much because she hates it lol so maybe thats what was going on. i’ve reduced her pellets a little bit and she started eating more hay so that seemed to help too 🙂

Thanks so much for the info! The link was very helpful also, great future reference for anyone with stasis prone buns. I continued with greens and fragrant herbs and only had to feed recovery formula for one day, he seems to be back to normal now. As you suggested, I am going to schedule a vet visit so a home care plan can be created as he does…[Read more]

Miu was acting a little off a couple hours ago, tried giving her various treats, but she wouldn’t eat. Gave her Simethecone and she’s back to usual and just was munching hay. But noticed Dorian looked off… he was fine just an hour ago as I was trying to get him not to eat any of the treats. Anyway just gave him simethecone and hoping he’ll be…[Read more]

Thanks for the advice, I was able to successfully avoid an er trip. I did not give the pedialyte and continued with greens, he seems to have recovered. I am still going to follow up with a full workup vet visit to make sure nothing else is going on. I am concerned the stasis may be a recurring theme since he had issues a few weeks ago as…[Read more]

I have done overly dramatic squeal of pain… it seemed to work. I have noticed the nips now are a lot more gentle…. though there’s some relearning when I warmer weather means bare ankles.

Good luck Ellie!! In retrospect my bonding was easy, but certainly didn’t feel like it during the process, so you got this!!! It will be so worth it once it’s over!
Dorian has spring fever, he actually tried to mount Miu… he is not a mounter (neither of them did it during bonding so I was a little surprised) and she was a little like nope!…[Read more]

As Wick says, your bun could lose some of his good litterbox gabits over time. It’d be a good idea to get him neutered. Also, if he chooses an additional toilet spot, you can place an additional litterbox in that spot. They do like to choose their spot themselves.
My Yohio (the bun I wrote about in my first post) had two litterboxes once he was…[Read more]

It’s great and is also subject to change as hormones may kick in and as he becomes more comfortable in the bigger space.
I too have a rabbit who was confined to a small area for a while in her past home and she also is very good with the litterbox. Restriction is a part of litterbox training (though not to the high degree that we see in…[Read more]
