I’m sure he will be just fine!
I’ve moved several times recently with my rabbits, once cross country! They all did wonderfully.
Best thing is not to wash his blankets or anything right before the move. You can even keep a small amount of dirty litter in his litter box. When you get to the new place, let him hang out in his carrier for 30 min or…[Read more]

Hello, every bunny! I own a 1.5-year-old Netherland dwarf rabbit! We are going to be moving to a farm soon, he will still be kept inside. He’s a pretty confident little bunny and loves to explore all over our house but I’m worried the move will stress him out. I would really appreciate it if anyone could share any advice they have! He has a hutch…[Read more]

The vet called us with the results. Apparently there was some issue with clotting because it was hard to get blood from our bunny. Everything seems to be normal but something related to the liver was elevated. They’ll run more tests on that. Kidneys are ok. We’ll know more tomorrow. Her urine has some sludge/crystals. The vet found no bacteria.…[Read more]

That’s an interesting mix of bloodlines! It’s fascinating how America is one big melting pot of cultures and ethnicities.
If you want to learn Gaelic I wouldn’t recommend Duolingo. It tries to teach you the language in a playful way, but it gives almost no background info about pronunciation rules etc. Videos on YouTube and language websites are…[Read more]

Yay, Owen seems to have found her rear! I’ve seen him mount on the proper side a couple of times yesterday. I still have to keep an eye on him though, because he doesn’t seem to stop on his own. I was taking some pictures and suddenly I noticed that he’d been on her for a minute already. At least she stays still when he mounts like…[Read more]

Yes, tell me about it! I woke up several times to the sound of thumping feet and scrabbling nails. I could hear them chase each other from the other side of the house. Bas was in front of a computer screen, so naturally: he completely missed it while being in the same room… 🙄

@Azerane I make my cat’s food as well, and something must have been off with the most recent batch of mine too because my cat Toby has been having some pooping trouble!
The only thing different is I left out the eggs this time, but they are optional and I know I’ve skipped them before…Â I can’t figure out if it was a batch issue or he just is…[Read more]

That is awesome! I wanna learn Irish Gaelic and Scottish Gaelic since I have Irish and Scottish in my mom’s side of the family (as well as English, Welsh, German, Sioux and Black Foot) and I wanna learn sign language. In the school my sisters and I went to kids have a choice between Spanish and French but the school told me that I was too stupid…[Read more]

Oooh yeah, those late night bonding sessions are always where the trouble starts with mine! That and the pre-dawn hours when they get super active.

DanaNM replied to the topic Bonding help needed! in the forum BONDING 4 years, 3 months ago
I think this is likely because you moved a bit too fast in the bonding process. That much mounting isn’t normal, as it’s interfeering with her eating and drinking, etc.
Can you move them back to a neutral place and work with them a bit more there? It may also be necessary to separate them for periods of the day to allow Dolly to eat and rest.

Haha! Things happen!
But great they didn’t fight! Definitely a good sign for future dates in neutral territory! If you didn’t find the room full of fur tufts then I’m sure nothing bad happened. If they had fought you would have also heard them… bunnies tussling make a ton of noise!

Ahhh I’m sorry!
It’s possible there’s still something going on with the teeth, or that she’s just having a rough stasis recovery. Be sure to syringe feed her whenever her hay consumption drops. Try using 1 mL syringes for syringe feeding, it can help a lot. (I use a bigger syringe to load up a few of the smaller ones from the back, and having a…[Read more]

DanaNM replied to the topic He won’t eat hay in the forum DIET & CARE 4 years, 3 months ago
Drinking a lot of water without eating hay can be sign of a dental issue (I had a bun with really messed up molars that had these symptoms). Did the vet check the back teeth? This can really only be done with an x-ray or under anesthesia.

You may need a different dosage, and in some areas the fleas are also resistant to advantage. If they are really persistent I recommend getting Revolution from your vet.

DanaNM replied to the topic should I screen for EC in Bun Jovi? in the forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A 4 years, 3 months ago
He just got his vaccinations, first dose was about 5 weeks ago. It wasn’t with his normal vet though, and I think they just do a really quick exam to make sure they don’t have obvious illness since it was a clinic.
He has only had 1 visit with the “regular” vet here. It’s hard to say whether I liked them or not. She’s apparently very experienced…[Read more]

Whew, crisis averted it seems! 🙂 We’ve had a couple of breakouts too before we started bonding. (I strongly suspect that my boyfriend didn’t close the pen properly after feeding them.) Our bunnies would chase after each other and made a lot of noise. It seems like yours are already more adjusted to each other than ours were.

She doesn’t tolerate pellets at all. She’s very sensitive. Someone on here recommended Cuni Sensitive. We gave it to her slowly and she’s only been getting one to two pellets a day for about 3-4 days but her cecotropes turned soft yesterday so I don’t think it’s an option either. We’re trying to get our hands on Pro-Fibre and we’ll see how she…[Read more]
