Fur in the litter box is not a big concern. Do you perhaps mean that there is mould in the litter box? This can happen when the litter box isn’t changed often enough. I’m using wood pellets and I had some in there once when I hadn’t changed the box for longer than usual because I’d been very unwell.

Cinnamon is very cute 🙂 There’s so many things that could have happened in regards to his injuries. It sometimes happens that a mother rabbit will chew off some of her kits limbs, perhaps a leg, ear, or even a tail. I think this usually happens due to the doe being stressed or inexperienced.
The ear could also be an injury, certainly a…[Read more]

@DanaMN It can be so tricky to pinpoint the cause of issues in regards to diet. I was fortunate that I was already aware of Jasper’s allergies and given that all the bones came from the freezer unlabelled it was a likely point of error.
Thank you for the weight loss support, I’d actually like to be a little more fit in terms of cardio, but I do…[Read more]

So is it fur? O not fur?

Yes, very handsome. Cinnamon rabbits are kept as pets too. Another possible explanation is rough handling by children. It isn’t unusual for people to keep rabbits outdoors, sometimes in not-so-great conditions.

Revolution obviously won’t hurt anything. But yeah, I don’t think it’s necessary in this scenario. Not being able to forage is going to be the worse part of this, I’m sure.

Thank you for the advice! we did swap them out in living spaces yesterday and while waiting for a reply we decided to do a play date. we put them in a bathroom that neither had been in before. our boy bun tried grooming our girl but she wasnt too into it yet. He kept going up to her but she would do a little nipping/ lunging to get him to back off…[Read more]

Oh my goodness, what a night… 😮😵 Good golly, miss Molly! She was on fire tonight and was suddenly more dominant than I’ve seen her in the last 2 weeks.
The date lasted only 1,5 hours, but in that time we had 67 mountings! I’m writing things down so we can see if there’s any progress in their dominance struggle.
This is my notation:

Awww, Archie is a very cute name ^_^ Glad that things worked out and that they’re going to solve the problem without extra costs for you!
Bunny surgeries have become a lot safer over the years as veterinary techniques improved. A neuter is a small and simple procedure and not very invasive. Right after the surgery they get a dose of Metacam…[Read more]

I have a few general questions.
So, we were planning on getting our male teenage rabbit a friend, but it turns out he wasn’t neutered. He’s getting neutered on the 1st of June. How long afterwards should we wait before starting to try and find him a friend?
Second, how does that work? Are you able to have your current bunny interact with the new…[Read more]

Oh wow! That’s awful 🙁
Thankfully, the shelter was super apologetic and one of their vets is going to be neutering him on June 1st free of charge. I’m nervous, but I talked to the vet’s assistant and they’ve been doing this for a really long time and have only ever had it go wrong once.
Quick question, so in a month or two I’m going to look…[Read more]

i have a 5 month fixed boy, he currently uses the bum box and pellet bedding on small pets select. i was changing his litter and i saw it looked like there was fur in his litter. I’m not sure if it was fur but it was grey and a little white. I’m concerned what that is and i tried looking it up but i couldn’t find anything on it. So please give…[Read more]

Azerane, I had a kitty with a lot of allergies, but luckily beef wasn’t one of them. That’s interesting how quickly she showed signs improving when you switched the food. Also congrats on the weight loss! I need to get back into shape myself, for some reason March was a really bad month for me and just now getting back to where I have the energy.…[Read more]

We don’t really have bugs like in many areas… at least not mosquitoes and no fleas that I have seen. We do have sugar ants and a few random soldier beetles. Oh and wasps, which I try to keep them out anyway. Anyway that was an overly verbose way of saying I am not going to bother with Revolution. I do most of the others, though the not being…[Read more]
