I would sleep close enough that you can intervene if something happens. Just for a day or two to make sure everything is well. Humping doesn’t need to be stopped unless it is causing the other bunny distress. A lot of times though, they will just hump things out and be all good. If you can see from the other bunny’s body language that a fight…[Read more]

I tried to upload a video of him breathing because I was finally able to get it but I don’t know if you’ll be able to see it because it says “this post is awaiting moderation”.

I don’t have a video every time I try to catch him breathing he stops. But you can hear him breathe so loud and the vet keeps telling me he’s fine. But if I do get a video how do I put it on here

Great, thanks LBJ!
I will keep them together from now. Monitor over night means check in the m0rning or should I sleep close or set up cameras? Also, if I am close should I stop the humping?
Thanks a bunch for the help, LBJ. And to all the people who helped me over the years, thank you too! This forum has a lot of credit for the bonding of Pi…[Read more]

Humping is typically not a concern as long as it isn’t leading to fights. Bonded bunnies hump all the time. It does look like they are pretty comfortable together. I don’t think separating them would be useful at this point, but they should be monitored overnight for a day or two just to make sure they are OK.

Just now I noticed Pi (the smaller one) sometimes trying to mount Dorian from behind. Or in general sometimes when Dorian is lying down he’s trying to groom him or something. When he mounted Dorian once, I saw some fur on the ground, as if it was ripped from Dorian but not as hard as I remember, just some orderly plucked fur hairs. I guess they…[Read more]

So last session was also the day I celebrate Pi’s birthday and I decided to let them be in the bonding area for the whole day, I needed to go but I could check the camera. Looks like there were no issues, they did seem to chill one near each other all the time. I was really happy but wasn’t sure they were bonded so I separated them for the night.…[Read more]

LBJ10 replied to the topic What is this thing in my rabbit's ear? Has anyone ever encountered this? in the forum DIET & CARE 1 month, 2 weeks ago
The clustering reminds me of itch mites. Some people (and presumably animals) are unaffected by itch mite bites, while others have a pretty intense allergic reaction. Something like this could explain why the other bunny seems unaffected. Have you noticed any bites on yourself? Itch mites can sometimes get into batches of hay.
The other thought…[Read more]

The formating is somehow all over the place, sadly. It didn’t look like this when I posted it.
But basically the first two pictures are how it looked on 17.7., both ears. Since the video didn’t show up (first ear, taken on 17.7.) I will post the link again here, if you’d like to check it -…[Read more]

TL;DR A skin rash/bumps in my lop rabbit, his sister doesn’t have it, so probably not mites/nothing contageous. Does anyone recognize this?
On 17.7. I noticed some unusual raised bumps or a rash inside my 5-year-old lop’s ear. He hasn’t been scratching more than usual and is otherwise acting completely normal — eating, playing, and behaving with…[Read more]

I don’t see anything that suggests they won’t be able to bond. I agree that the last video especially looks promising. As I said earlier, you probably just need to do something to help seal the deal.

YouTube links checked by mod Bam.
The last video in particular looks very promising to me. One bun relaxed on its side, other bun very close by, grooming himself.

I wouldn’t read too much into it if it only happened once. Sometimes bunnies will just pee on soft things. If he starts making a habit of it, then I would be more worried that something else is going on.

Okay so cocoa almost 2 decided today that he would pee on his blanket in his cage instead of litter box in which he never has done that. I just cleaned his box today and I did rearrange a bit. Could it be because I rearranged?
he is acting normal eating etc but in way has been a little more scared than normal. Could it be I had to board him for 5…[Read more]

Hello!
If it gives you some encouragement, we have a bonded male pair. 🙂 A Holland lop and a Dwarf Lion Head, Rocky and Napoleon, respectively.
We adopted them from the same shelter a couple years ago. They had been housed in the same cage at the shelter, but they weren’t a bonded pair. They hadn’t even come from the same home, I don’t think,…[Read more]

You could try uploading the video to a third party site. That’s what most people do.
Have you tried any other techniques recently? Like petting them together? Or putting them in a carrier together and going for a car ride (or similar distraction)? It sounds like they need a nudge of some sort.
