Spongi started the topic Rabbit peeing on my bed in the forum BEHAVIOR 4 years, 2 months ago
Hi all,
So I have had my rabbit for almost 4 years now.
He is fixed, and he is litter trained. He has never been territorial, and has never peed or poohed on my bed.
As of late though, he’s suddenly peeing and pooping on my bed, only my bed.
I thought it was because of my other rabbit’s presence (I have had her for a year, she is fixed and…[Read more]

Hello, I was an owner of a 1 year and 4 months old beautiful bunny named Moon. She was the loveliest, precious, intelligent, naughty, cheeky and the perfect bunny I had. She would literally understand what I say and acted like a real person sometimes. Unlike other bunny stories I have heard of, she would never bite cables or walls but is as…[Read more]

Yes, I have a similar concentration for the hemp oil we use (30 mg/ml), and the bottle says it comes out to 1 mg per drop. I’m so glad you asked because I just went to look up what I had written a couple years ago when we tried it then (since we’ve just reintroduced it) and actually can’t find anything about breaking up the dosage further! So m…[Read more]

Thanks Meg, great point about not catastrophizing! Bun is like that too. I actually picked up some CBD tincture to try but I haven’t yet because I wasn’t sure about the dosage. What concentration is your cbd? Mine says it’s 33 mg for 1 “dropper full”, which I think is about 1 mL. That’s a good mix it with pellets to get a smaller dose, because…[Read more]

I’ve asked around all the nearby vets but I live in a pretty empty part of Australia and so there’s not many vets in the area I’d be comfortable sending her to, we have rough plans to get it done in a month or so it’s just because I have a lot of health issues and had some big medical bills recently and the weather here is making food super…[Read more]

Sorry for the late reply been rather busy these days but she’s essentially running up to me to go scratch and bite me, especially when I slouch (she goes and bites my elbow) and then leaves again.
I read about the squealing elsewhere and have been trying it for the past few days and it’s been working quite well! Thank you for the tips 🙂 -

Oof, these two are really trying to duke it out… Thank you LBJ, I hadn’t thought of that.

I’m so sorry, Dana. It is so hard. I don’t have much experience since we’re going through this for the first time with Teddy (his BFF, Athena, passed pretty suddenly at age 10, and she hadn’t had much in the way of age-related changes). But Teddy is also having good days and bad days, and the bad ones are so hard. CBD oil seems to help with th…[Read more]

Yes, unfortunately the changes can be like flipping a light switch. Is she boxing or lunging at you? Or is she just coming up to you and casually trying to take a chunk out of your hand? The former can be interpreted as aggression, the latter is more them exploring things and testing their boundaries. If your bunny is simply nipping you (and yes,…[Read more]

Bunnies will chew each others whiskers in an attempt to establish dominance. You said they were struggling to decide who is going to be top bunny.

For the record, it seems a lot of bunnies do not like Kaytee. Mine sure didn’t. It just doesn’t smell that fresh. I would try some Oxbow orchard grass or oat hay, both are very popular. They also have a botanical hay with some herbs mixed in. Small Pet Select, Rabbit Hole, and other brands are also good. Binkybunny also sells some awesome mini…[Read more]

LBJ10 replied to the topic Pine pellets and sneezing? in the forum DIET & CARE 4 years, 2 months ago
It has been awhile, but was she checked for chronic sinus problems like tooth roots or another obstruction (abnormal shape to the cavity, etc.)? The reason I’m asking again is because this sounds all too familiar. I had a bunny with chronic sinus issues (tooth roots). He was sensitive to strong smells, hay dust, etc and he would sneeze whenever…[Read more]

Aw, poor Bun Jovi. 🙁 The confusion is really hard because you feel helpless. There isn’t much you can do except try to be reassuring.

DanaNM replied to the topic Rabbit Hutch Indoors in the forum HABITATS AND TOYS 4 years, 2 months ago
I have mine in pens, but there are some examples of creative indoor set-ups involving hutch-type things (haha) here: https://binkybunny.com/bunnyinfo/other-habitats/
Most hutches are too small but some people like to have the hutch as the “home base” for all the bunny’s stuff, but it’s left open to a larger area 24/7.
