She is being too aggressive, to an extent that sounds like their bond may actually be broken. Have there been environmental or scent changes recently? Did you separate them for any given time?
For their safety, I would recommend keeping them separate for now and go through some rebonding tactics so they can work this out safely and while…[Read more]

Just in case anyone wants a follow up.
1) I met her where she was at for her morning meds yesterday and stuck my arm under the bed. Antibiotics were no problem at all, but I ended up mixing the metcam with baby food — they didn’t have only banana (only banana with yogurt, granola or some other thing) so we tried organic, no sugar added app…[Read more]

What I find very interesting is that you free roam your bunny and he jumps up onto your bed? If I did this with my bunnies they would tear the house to shreds and bite holes and chew the bed sheets. I would love to be able to free roam in the same way you do.
Is it to do with the breeds?
I noticed my lop makes a better house bunny as he tends…[Read more]

I have two bunnies who live together,a spayed female (Lennon) and neutered male (Gippy). I’ve noticed that Lennon has been chasing Gippy around and ripping his fur out creating bald patches, she also growls and chases him away when I feed them, and in general just chases him around grabbing at his fur a lot. Just recently I also found a scab in…[Read more]

Thank you for taking these rabbits in!
The first thing to do is to try and sex them. There are good resources online with pics. Omce youve separated males and females you’ve bought yourselves a lot of time. You obviously don’t want them to procreate, so sexing is important. It’s good if you can separate them so that they can still hear and…[Read more]

Hi everyone! I need some advice! Three bunnies were dumped at my school patio. They are for sure pets. They have numbers on their ears. We are trying to find a home for them but in the meantime we want to keep them safe. Their nails are very long and a teacher hit scratched! We are taking them to the vet. What is the best place to post for…[Read more]

Plumped Cuddly Bunnies replied to the topic Is it possible to bond 2 does in the forum BONDING 3 years, 9 months ago
I’ll just go with my new plan. Its a real shame because if the two does were spayed they would be a bonded pair and they’d be able to live together. I will have to search deeper, maybe see if I could visit some shelters and do some asking about on spaying and neutering.
I saw one vet yesterday who is listed as a rabbit savvy vet, when I got there…[Read more]

Thank you! I love the mat idea. The last thing I want is for them to view me negatively, so thank you for the great advice!

Great, thank you! She actually ate the antibiotic last night willingly (strong banana smell) but the pain meds were a hard no. She’s usually obsessed with eating so mixing it with baby food may work well!
I’m really hoping it will get easier, I just feel so bad when they get scared. I wish they understood we were trying to help!

… I hope this helps! Also, it can be helpful to get an association with meds other than you. For my Wick, I have med/groom mat that acts as the signal, so he runs away when he sees it rather than me (read my comment in the post!)…[Read more]

Thank you for your advice!
they have been bonded for 4 months so far.
I’ve been to the vets today and my make rabbit Percy has a urine infection so hopefully antibiotics will clear that up and that may have an effect on the litter training problem.
In their bedroom I have laid the soft foam floor tiles that are used for kids playrooms on to…[Read more]

She could have been a bit stressed from the day overall, so it may get easier… but she also might get more feisty! Can you mix the meds with something yummy so she will take them voluntarily?
My go-to is a small amount of banana or baby food. 🙂
One way to give them without picking her up would be to sort of corner her in an x-pen and make it…[Read more]

Hi all,
back at it with another question for those with free roam buns. The bunnies had a vet visit yesterday where they got blood and the first RHD vaccine…so it was a rough day for all parties. My girl, Pixie, has a wound on her neck (unknown cause but they’re testing her for bunny syphilis as a Hail Mary) but I have to give her antibiotics and…[Read more]
