Hmm I remember a member having this issue before… I can’t quite remember but I think ringworm was suggested as a possible cause?

That calmed me down thank you! I gave her a box so she can make her nest. I just didn’t expect THIS much fur 😭

I took them to the vet. Surprisingly no stitches required, but the vet did prescribe a week of medication for the injured one.
After the vet, I put them back in their usual side-by-side pens and they seem fine with each other. But I can change their setup to have them on opposite sides of the room and have a barrier between them for a…[Read more]

Thanks gang! Good to be back. I’ve been more than a little busy, because I got myself a part time job. I’m a librarian! (it’s much more physical than people think)
As for her nibs, I’m working on getting her to be more lovey, but it’s a slog. She’s not a cuddly bun, and runs every time I stand up, or move around. Not real sure how to fix i…[Read more]

It may be better to put them in separate rooms, if possible. Some distance can help them forget.

Rabbits will do this for various reasons, but the most common reason is a pseudo pregnancy. It’s when an unspayed female has hormonal signals and it makes her think she is pregnant. These hormones will make her go through all of the motions of getting ready for a litter, including plucking fur and building a nest. And yes, they can fit A LOT of…[Read more]

I just almost had a heart attack. My rabbit was grooming herself and after I noticed she was just sitting in place and had some hair sticking out of her mouth. I pulled it but she tried to run so I didn’t get all of it. I had to catch her which was weird because she usually just comes to me for pets. When I caught her I struggled to get her mouth…[Read more]

Vets often do get cancellations, so this is a great idea!

Good point, often if you call first thing in the morning they have some spots for urgent sick visits that they save (or cancellations).

Hmmm, there isn’t a hard and fast rule on how long the break should be, but I’ve heard 4-6 weeks is a good starting point if the injuries are serious. Did the cuts require vet attention?
Usually it’s recommended that they are not side by side, with the goal of them forgetting each other. If that’s not possible, hanging a visual barrier such as a…[Read more]

I really hope you’ll get him out, safe and sound. Rabbits really are expert at getting themselves into trouble. I think it’d be best of you go about things slowly and calmly. I still hope you can coax him out with the aid of some yummy treats.
If he’s in a place where you dont sleep, place a bowl of water and some hay near where he is before you…[Read more]
