so, this all sounds pretty positive. You want to wait until they are basically bonded in neutral space before progressing to non-neutral. So I would do some overnights next in neutral territory. I think it’s also time to start working with all three together, so you may want to work with all three during the day until they are doing well, then…[Read more]

Have you tried the Rabbit.org list? Here’s a link: https://rabbit.org/care/rabbit-vets-near-me/
Otherwise, you could try expanding your search. My vet’s office, for example, is listed as a bird vet. There is one vet there that sees birds, but the vet that has always seen my bunnies does all of the exotics and pocket pets. They share the office.…[Read more]

Hey all,
Looking for help finding a good vet who sees rabbits in the high desert area. I’ve done online research and called around to no luck, does anyone happen to have any recs?
Anywhere in the high desert area is fine, but best would be Hesperia, Apple Valley, Victorville, Adelanto, that kind of region.

Did you get your bunny checked out? Any updates?

I agree a vet visit is wise. Regardless if all activity is the same, rabbits hide injuries very well, so it may be a muscle strain or fracture. An X-ray should be able to clarify the cause!

Usually when they stick a leg out like that while sitting, it suggests some hind end weakness. This can be due to an injury, but the more likely culprit is EC. I would suggest having her evaluated by your vet.

Hi there! Been a while since I’ve posted here but my bunny Lola started sitting weirdly as of yesterday and I’m not really sure why. I’ve included a photo, but does anyone know why she’s doing this? She isn’t acting much different than usual, she’s still eating and taking treats, I offered her blueberries today. I’ve never seen this!

Kiln dried pine us safe. Spruce is listed as potentially toxic, but it isn’t clear if that is because it contains something pine does not… or if it simply needs to be kiln dried first like pine does.

Hello, my guys are absolute slobs when it comes to their hay. I found a solution from Amazon which is a wood litterbox container from a brand called petsfit. I figured this would contain the mess a bit. In the product description it says it’s made from “fir” I reached out to the seller and asked them to be more specific and the answer I recieved…[Read more]

That’s a good idea Bam! And you actually reminded me of something. Do they still make those potpourri crock pots? They were meant to melt wax potpourri. Anyway, I had one many years ago that had a decent sized bowl (i.e. it was shaped like a mini crock pot). I was able to add water and dried potpourri to it. The warmer heated it up enough to help…[Read more]

I have only made potpourri with flowers and leaves from my garden. It’s too late in the year for roses now, and store bought roses are not really grown for fragrance, just for looks.
I think any herbs would do great. Rosemary, mint, lavender, chamomille, sage, lemon balm, herb fennel. Some herbs dont have much of a lasting fragrance when they’re…[Read more]

Trying to bond NewBoyBun to my resident GirlBun and SeniorBoyBun. SeniorBoyBun is good with everybun and easily got along as usual. So, for the first time, I’m mostly just working with bonding the other two, rather than trying a trio because I don’t want to stress SeniorBoyBun out.
GirlBun is apparently super territorial and it’s taken a while…[Read more]

Ha, I actually have no idea! Don’t even remember which one it was. I only saw it because the vet was examining him and I was on the other side of the table so I saw the underside of his paw but his was much more red than your buns’. I was alarmed because thought it was inflamed but I didn’t have a reference point. The vet did say that digit…[Read more]

Bunnies will naturally develop wear spots on their feet over time. We often think of their back feet (hocks), but you can end up with exposed front paw pads as well. They will often develop a callous in these areas. As long as it isn’t inflamed, red, cracking, bleeding, etc. then it isn’t anything to be too concerned about. You can change up their…[Read more]

Are they actually different from the others or just that you notice the two?
Reason I ask is because I noticed one on one of my buns before and asked my vet, who said it wasn’t an issue. They are normally like that but usually their fur just covers it so one doesn’t notice it. In my case, thinning fur wasn’t an issue as it was an elder bun. May…[Read more]
