This sounds like it could be EC. My senior started showing symptoms around age 12. Circling/spinning and scanning was a main symptom for him. Ear infections do not cause neuro affects, but EC definitely does. I recommend talking to your vet about this. EC tests are unreliable, but many vets will treat on suspicion. Treating my bun helped a lot, he…[Read more]

Hi all. I was here back at the end of December to ask about my holland lop Blu and his ear infection/ head tilt. Well we’ve treated everything but here we are almost 3 months later and he is still only about to turn to the left when moving about. He is still pretty strong, and can take a step or two now in the forward direction, but he mostly o…[Read more]

Rabbits do like to pee on the ones they love. In the rabbit universe, its a compliment. It tends to subside with spaying/neutering, but intact rabbits can be quite determined when it comes to peeing on their human. Rabbits also like to pee on soft things like beds and sofas, and that often goes for both intact and spay/neutered rabbits.
It’s very…[Read more]

Now I need to ask this. Why? Why do the pee on my bed? I was all excited that my little gray and white bun was coming to see me. He just paused on my hip and peed. This bunny has rocks for brains so I’m not thinking he’s claiming anything but his mom does it also. She waits until she out of reach and then gives me the side eye. Sometimes I for…[Read more]

It’s as if they have to put some effort into keeping their lips closed. When they relax, sometimes they let everything go and that includes their lips. It isn’t usual to see their lip sort of sagging. LOL

Some rabbits do indeed part their mouth while resting, so you can see their teeth. Generally, mouth-breathing is going to come up at pretty intense stages of respiratory distress, so w/ no other obvious indicators, it’s likely just how Eclipse rests.

You can find those cardboard cat houses with the scratcher base. I got one on clearance from Valentine’s Day for $4.
Does she like palm leaf stuff? I tried the palm leaf boxes from the BB store and those are hours of fun!
BTW, I’m glad to hear your bunny is doing OK after such an ordeal. Don’t beat yourself up about her moving off the heating…[Read more]

Another fun, distraction toy…
Take a cardboard box, put a cardboard cat scratcher in it and cut one hole. Let the destruction begin!😊
Using a box about the size of the scratcher works best. If bigger you can cut another scratcher to fit the spaces.

In deep rest, a bun can part their lips so the front teeth show. You can look at #bunnyteefs on Insta for some examples.
Its obviously important to keep a close watch on those sneezes. Theyre as a rule only sneezes (hay dust etc), unless you see thick snot (opaque white or yellow-greenish etc), but its definitely good to keep a bit of an eye. (I…[Read more]

Hello, Eclipse is not showing any of the obvious signs of illness but I noticed when shes laying down spread out in her resting area I can see a bit of her teeth? Is this normal or is this a sign of mouth breathing? The jaw itself is shut, its just the lips parted a bit to where the teeth are visible. She’s sneezed a couple times today which m…[Read more]
