I think you are doing whats best for him. Its true that a very tiny fracture might not show on x-rays, and even if they did, you wouldnt treat it any differently except perhaps try to stop him from jumping for a week or two. Rabbits dont appreciate full cage rest, so cage rest could do more harm than good in his case.

Asked physio again, the fact…[Read more]

Thank you for your response. Very helpful information.

I was thinking elbow injury is he tries to clean his right ear but can’t bring the paw up. But he can clea  his face with that paw. I gently touched his elbow and he didn’t react at all. Even vet examined and he said he couldn’t see or feel anything.

It could be something in the paw itself…[Read more]

I asked a human physiotherapist about this. They said it could be a ligament injury. Those can heal unless its a completely torn ligament, but it as a rule takes quite some time. It doesnt seem to be a complete rupture, because he retains such a lot of function. Its very promising that he has so much function.

Another possiblity could be an elbow…[Read more]

You all say they are removable, but how do you do it? I have 5 x-pens here, I’m trying to remove two piece of one to connect to another somewhere else. (I’m using these pens all around my balcony so that my bunbun don’t fall) but I need to remove pieces of the ones on my back balcony to add to the one on the front balcony but I can’t find a way t…[Read more]

Hi all, We have a lovely boy ( mini lop mixed with Angora) who is turning 6 years this month. Around a month and half ago, we noticed he is not putting much pressure on his front right paw. However he can run, jump and eats well. Few days past and we noticed it more. He has been sitting while putting the arm under his body and when he flops to…[Read more]

Meme is wobbling for a few days now. I’m thinking ear infection. I had some Metacam so I gave her a dose. Flemish Giant Bunny. Has diarrhea as well. We gave her a butt bath as well. She has an appointment Monday.

I have not had any issues with using a litter screen. He uses the litter box with or without one. The screen just keeps the litter IN the box. You can buy one at the BB store. Or you can make one yourself. Some people like to use the plastic canvas for crafts.

Will that affect him being litter box trained? Where do I get a screen?

As far as my other boy he was actually out of his cage when I was cleaning it. He climbed on my back legs and bit my lower back. That was the 2nd time. Prior to that I think he wanted more treats.

Thank you all for your advice 😊

I recommend using a litter box screen to help with the digging. It will help with the biting to wait to do cleaning while he isn’t in his cage. Most rabbits can be protective of their home space.

You can use kid’s sandbox sand to make a dig box. Its sold in small sacks and its been treated with heat so kids dont get bad bacteria etc on their skin. Just keep a close eye until you know your bun will not eat the sand. Some horses and rabbits will eat sand, and its very bad for them.

Your other bunny was probably upset that you were messing…[Read more]
