Thank you so much for the advice. Mowgli had his treatment today, and they did find a few spurs, so hopefully that was the problem and he will be back to full appetite soon.

Age is generally not concern. Just keep in mind that the process can be stressful so as long as the rabbits are healthy and things aren’t interrupted by vet visits, I see no problem w/ it. Just keep in mind that grieving is something rabbits do, to varying degrees, when a bonded mate passes.

I have had all 3 of my rabbits for going on 7-9 years (my oldest will be 9 in September). Unfortunately, when I got my first two rabbits, I wasn’t as knowledgeable as I am now. With this being said, “bonding” them was a failure, and since then, they have not been housed/allowed to roam together. My 3rd rabbit is her “own” indivudual….. so I do…[Read more]

Did it look like she was flicking her paws? Rabbits do that before and during grooming themselves.

Also congratulations on the new rabbit! Make sure to review the RABBIT INFO tab of the website to get an overview of necessary information. There is a lot of misinformation about pet rabbit care by pet stores and others that can be potentially very…[Read more]

Congrats on the new bun and welcome!

So, for litter training, you will likely continue to see that type of marking until he’s neutered (and his hormones have time to settle, usually about 2-3 weeks). Many buns will also choose to use a digging box as a litter box, so it may be best to remove it until he’s neutered and then try again, or convert…[Read more]

It could be more an issue with amount over pellet type. If you check out this pellet comparison chart it can help you compare brands: https://wabbitwiki.com/wiki/Rabbit_pellets_comparison_charts

How much pellets are you feeding each day? At age 5 they really don’t need very many pellets at all. At one point I had an adult/senior bun that was…[Read more]

What I do is read the macro nutritional-values list on the package. I also read the ingredients-list, but the that only says so much, because feed companies mix the ingredients to fit the desired nutritionsl values. You dont get any info on the micro-nutrients though, because that’s not legally required.

The pellets I am using for my adult mini…[Read more]

    Hi Everyone,

I’m new here and a new bunny parent and have a few questions i was wondering if anyone would be so kind to answer and help.

We have a 12 week Mini lop boy called Prince, we’ve had him just under 3 weeks and he’s a bundle of joy and already feel the bonding process is going very well. I’ll give a little background on his life with us…[Read more]

I use 2 types of products, a puzzle mat (easy to clean in case of accident) and an enclosure mat.

My rabbits are 5 years old and a tad over weight. I’ve been wondering what I should give my rabbits pellet wise because of their age and weight. I’ve been giving the Kaytee Forti-Diet since that’s the kind my step mom picks up. I heard that Kaytee isn’t so great so I would like to know what kind of pellets could be better for a good price.

Strenght and steadiness is actually great. Grooming himself is also great. The anorexua could be due to the antibiotics.

There are other pain meds than meloxicam nowadays. There’s one called maropitant thats increasly being used in buns just these last cpl of years. There’s also metamizole (brand name Novalgin) that my Vilde got. They can be…[Read more]
