Haha, they always seem to know when they’re in trouble! Mine always give me the “What? I’m not doing anything!” face (usually as they are sitting right next to the evidence lol). Or, our girl bun Georgia will do binkies when she gets scolded for digging in the cat boxes and we shoo her out lol.🙄

The blankets or a slipcover were my first thought,…[Read more]

My bunny has never done this before in the 2 years we have had him. He is 100% litter boxed trained and not once has peed or pooped anywhere in my house she I free roam him. He has been out before for 3 hours and goes right to his pen where is litter box is when he has to go.

today he was laying next to me on a blanket on my couch and he peed. I…[Read more]

When my rabbit is free roaming with supervision he likes to lick my leather couch. He also has chewed my leather couch in places . I’ve put blankets on my couch in which he licks the blanket but tries to get the blanket off.

is there something I can do to prevent chewing my couch?
he is like a kid in trouble because when I catch him he looks at m…[Read more]

    Oh dear, that is difficult!

I only trimled the hair rust around my Vilde’s eyes, becsuse the fibe fluff irritated his eyes. But you’d probably need someone to help you hold your bun for that type of trimming. Accidentally hurting his eyes would be far worse than eye boogers and it’s no guarantee trimming hairs would actually help, there could be…[Read more]

Yes, I’ve been wondering if I need to trim around his eyes more. This bun is super furry so trimming him is required but for his face, I only trim his nose/between eyes area. Might need trim his cheeks/outside of eyes but I didn’t want to accidently trim whiskers.

Maybe because I have to trim him monthly, even though he’s super…[Read more]

Warm (not hot) compress perhaps, I’d try warm plain water/saline first, but I know some ppl add some weak chamomile tea. Let the booger soften for a bit and then wipe/remove with your fingers?

My very fluffy bun Vilde got eye boogers/crustiness around the eyes unless I cut the hair around his eyes. Not all of it, not so he looked weird, just the…[Read more]

As long as it’s naturally occurring as opposed to an ailment, I think using your fingers/nails is fine.

It can come from less grooming behaviors for age. I do wonder if it may be like with humans, where when you have a stuffier nose, you also get more eye gunk?

Hmm… you may want to make sure he doesn’t have a problem with his tear duct. As for removing, I always just used my fingernails but nobody ever had really big eye boogers. They were always small ones. You could try grabbing it with two fingers over a wet paper towel, allow the water to soak in a little, then try to work it out.

Any ideas how to more easily remove crusty type of eye boogers?

My massively furry boy gets large eye crusty boogers. Someone recommended using water or saline and wiping but the water wipe did absolutely nothing. I’ve been just using my nails and fingers to gradually work it out. The problem is that I end up removing a tiny bit of fur. Not a big…[Read more]

We switched our buns to bottled spring water a couple of years ago. Our tap water where we live was developing a strange chlorine/chemical-y taste and my husband (who is kind of anti-tap water for drinking/cooking to begin with) decided we should maybe switch the buns to spring water.

We buy the gallon jugs at the grocery store for around $1.39…[Read more]

I’m so glad this story has such a happy ending!

Unfortunately I missed the original posts when you had written them, but I’m glad that you were able to find the support you needed to handle your first bunny! And it sounds like you have quite the friend now. 🙂

Bunnies make incredible companions. We have both cats and buns, and I really feel like…[Read more]

This is wonderful! Thank you so much for the update! I’m glad to hear that things are going well and you have what sounds like a very special bond with your bunny. Animals can definitely be healing. They give us a reason to get up in the morning and to do the things we need to do. Despite your reservations, you decided to give things a shot and…[Read more]

Bottled spring water is usually just a municipal well, so it may not be much different than your tap water. The concern with municipal tap water (if there is one) is more often contamination from lead pipes, etc. Now if you have a private well, that is a different story and there is the potential for all kinds of contaminants. I agree that it may…[Read more]

Since this was made over a year ago- I felt like giving a small update, if anything mostly really for myself and to happily put a bow on this…

I’ve kept her! I got her when she was about 2 and a half months old, now she’s over a year old. Still tiny as ever but just a little bit bigger…

I think keeping her and pulling through was one of the…[Read more]

I’ve been giving my bunny Poland spring water, my husband wants me to give him either tap water or filtered water. Keep in mind we don’t drink our tap water we drink Poland spring.

I’m concerned to switch because I really believe the tap water is what gave my other bunnies cancer last year and they both died months apart last year.

    any thoughts?
