I dont think you can tell buns apart with any certainty apart unless they’ve a microchip or an ear tattoo. I’m sure bun DNA-profiling is possible, but I dont think its in high demand for cost-benefit reasons. Rabbits tend to only murder people as a very last resort, so there’s not much need for bunny DNA evidence in most murder cases. Insurance…[Read more]

Oh boy, finding those creepy little worms in Franklin’s poop was not a pleasant surprise!. Even though Franklin tested negative before, it’s possible for rabbits to get re-infected with worms. It’s great that you’re calling the vet tomorrow to get their expert advice. In the meantime, make sure to clean everything thoroughly to minimize the risk…[Read more]

Sorry about the title, I just don’t know how to word my question but I’m gonna try…. You know how humans are found apart from their finger prints and dogs for their noses? How do you tell bunnies apart using this way of identification?

Nope I don’t deworm my rabbit, deworming is not something that all rabbits absolutely need. Most pet rabbits don’t require regular routine worming. Rabbits are generally less likely to get worms compared to other animals.

I’m so sorry you are going through this. I just went through the same thing with my cat, it’s an awful thing to feel like you have no good options. 🙁

I hope it helps your bun feel better for some time and you get to spend some more time with him. It did help my cat for a bit and allowed us at least to have some processing time and some more good…[Read more]

Ok, thanks for the details! Logistically I am not really able to do everyday (plus it’s really hard to get them gathered up for sessions, so to do swaps I’d need a holding place of some sort too), and I’m still worried about Snoopy and Ruby bonding faster.. If they aren’t bonded by winter or so,  then I might try the technique :). Hopefully it…[Read more]

Oh yes, cold laser therapy! I think that could be really helpful actually! I have used a laser pointer for wound care for many years, both on human wounds and pet wounds. That type of light stimulates tissue healing. And as long as you don’t shine it in anybody’s eyes, it’d be perfectly safe. LED light therapy can also help, but I haven’t used…[Read more]

Thank you for the replies! It’s looking like this is my only reasonable option at this point. The other option the vet gave me was to start chemo, which would require an hour drive each way once a week (he hates the car) and wouldn’t necessarily prolong his life any more than the steroid would. The vet said given that he’s 8 and a senior bun,…[Read more]

Thank you so much for your reply though, I feel at my wits end so I just need like a brains trust to come up with any solutions I haven’t.

I feel like the sock situation stresses her out, and i worry about her eating the sock, the tape, and licking off the ointment and cutting off blood supply. I sort of wish i could put a little shoe on her. But…[Read more]
