I’m sorry your bun is having problems. Since you took him to a rabbit vet and had test done, this could be about ageing. Arthritis (joint pain and inflammation du to age) can be a factor. Pain can make a bun less inclined to move around, and that obviously affects the bun’s capacity for maintaining skeletal muscle. It’s seen in old horses and v…[Read more]

I think it’s important to understand what GI stasis is, because what you’re describing actually just sounds like very mild instances of gas, which is natural and is a part of the natural digestive process.
GI stasis is the state in which the rabbits GI literally stops– therefore “stasis”. If a rabbit’s GI has truly stopped, it is very unlikely…[Read more]

My bunny Metoo, a white mini-lop, will be ten years old in October. We have been very careful with the types of food we feed him since his purchase almost ten years ago at the age of 8 weeks. We mostly feed him oaten hay, Oxbow adult rabbit pellets and some veggies after he became an adult. But over the past month or so he has been losing weight,…[Read more]

Thank you for the responses! I have a urine removal spray that I have been using because he used to pee on the bed (I don’t let him up there anymore). He has been peeing near his litter box so I will keep an eye on him for signs of illness. He’s still eating and peeing normally (not strained) and running around, but he is almost five years old, so…[Read more]

Snowball loves sitting in front of our fan in the living room ! Here in the UK, the weather is hot and muggy at the moment, so snowball loves to sit / lay in front of the fan whenever he gets the chance to 🙂

CutieMoosh started the topic Bunny acting weird and won't eat in the forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A 2 years, 8 months ago
My bunny seemed normal today but at around 8:00pm he took a few bites of hay and then got mad and stopped eating. Whenever I try to nudge him to eat he gets mad and runs away. I then tried giving him an apple slice and after eating about half of it he got mad and ran away. He looks like he’s alert and scared of something, but I’m not sure if there…[Read more]

Hi everyone, so my bunny is frequently suffering from gi stasis perhaps 4 or 5 times a year and the problem is always solved with baby gas drops. My question here is why does it happen so often and all of a sudden because her diet consists of hay and pellets and her poops are amazing shape and color, she is also free roaming so she exercises a lot…[Read more]

LBJ10 replied to the topic Chewing on bars in the forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A 2 years, 8 months ago
Does your bunny chew constantly or just take “test bites” here and there? I agree that bunnies will naturally want to test boundaries and a little nibble on the bars just to make sure they are solid isn’t going to hurt anything.
