Update: after a week of only prebonding I’ve put them back into a small neutral territory and am going to start stress bonding again tomorrow! My only concern is that nora is still grunting and squeaking like crazy any time Theo gets near her. Still no fighting or anything and the humping as subsided significantly! I’m just not sure if I sho…[Read more]

Running around does help wear down a bit, but usually not enough to completely eliminate the need for trims. Most buns need a trim every 4-5 weeks. If you trim a little at a time but more frequently then you will be less afraid of cutting too close (rather than having to trim a lot all at once). I know easier said than done though! The videos…[Read more]

Thank you for suggestions. These are very informative.I will check FibaFirst.
I tried to bind and tie my pellets with hays to let her eat hays but my rabbit cleverly spit out hays and eat only pellets(it was pretty funny to see that though).
But what do you mean by dry mixing?
Mixing hays and pellets in a mixer and feed it?

That sounds like it’s just part of their relationship, so I wouldn’t worry too much about it. Some buns get a bit crazy in spring, so that could explain the uptick you saw recently. 🙂 If you notice one bun suddenly gets upset about it, that changes things and you might need to work with them on it.

Wick & Fable replied to the topic has anyone used Ditrim Liquid (Sulfadiazine/Trimethoprim) in the forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A 6 years, 5 months ago
I am not familiar with this particular medication, unfortunately. Based on what I can find, it seems safe (see below).
Taking an antibiotic will always run the risk of upsetting the stomach. It is a balance between the potential discomfort from that versus a rabbit continuing to have the bacterial infection he/she does. The gut biome can “grow”…[Read more]

Hi!
So it mostly happens when they’ve been snuggling for a long time or when ginger is being groomed and misty gets bored. Neither of them react when it happens. It’s mostly ginger who humps mistys face, and when I get him off or he finishes, she doesn’t look at all fazed. She just carries on being flopped or chilling. I’ve never seen either o…[Read more] -

Hi there, welcome 🙂
So, in a bonded pair, face humping is less of a concern, but you do want to be sure they are truly bonded (esp since yours are newly bonded). With my first pair, during grooming my girl would shove her head so far under my boy it would trigger some face humping. Half the time she wouldn’t notice and would think she was still…[Read more]

Hi everyone,
just have a quick question about humping. I have had my boy Ginger, since December 2018 when I bought him with my other little boy Toffee who sadly passed away when they were both being neutered in March 2019. Ginger was lonely and so I then adopted misty in March 2019. She was spayed in may of last year and then in October of last…[Read more]

If anyone has used this antibiotic please let us know if you had good results or did you run into any problems.
We have not yet given it to him before we ask others who may have experience with this drug.
Our bunny of 9 years (who has always been in our home with the 2 of us) had somewhat of a nasely sound at his last check up of a week ago…[Read more]

i will definitely look into clicker training, thanks! i do have some things i need to train him to be able to do. handling is the biggest thing, because he needs to be able to be handled, for various reasons. and i agree that any and all enrichment is great!
thanks again!

I have to tell you that last night, I got my very first kisses and some pretty solid cuddle time. He will usually flop somewhere near me, but he was content to lay on me and binge watch netflix last night! So you were right about the bonding!

Yes,I agree with you.
I will check into dental issues more.
I thought my rabbit is too spoiled by me so she is not eating hays(it is mostly true I guess).
But I have realized that I should check dental issues more after reading these posts.
Anyways,thank you all.

I recently had to take my rabbit Ollie to our vet for a ringworm infection, and they gave us a probiotic powder we could sprinkle on food/his veggies if we chose to. It’s specific for small animals. My first instinct is to shy away from the liver-flavor supplement, but I’m sure other BB members will chime in as well.
Can I ask why your vet has…[Read more]
