Is there something in the hutch they are becoming territorial about perhaps?
It does sound like things dont escalate and they resolve things quickly. It might be just part of how they roll now. Some pairs are like that.
I do remember a forum leader from years ago who had a pair that would have a falling out every year. She would have to separate…[Read more]

It’s possible if she does have something going on with her eye, that he is cleaning it up all the time. So you might not get a chance to see if it’s tearing or get some gunk. Something to watch for.

Hi, they have a hutch and then free roam of my room, it’s only when the hutch is closed that they do it. I just caught a bit of chasing which worried me a lot but as soon as I stopped it, again it was like nothing ever happened and they’re back to being flopped next to each other. It tends to be at this time of the day, which in England is mid…[Read more]

Hi and welcome to Binkybunny!
If buddy’s toe broke or got dislocated months ago, and he still seems fine, albeit with a weird toe, I dont think a vet would do very much. They could x-ray his foot to assess the damage, but I doubt they’d do anything about it. This is if everything looks ok, no swelling, discoloration, seepage, etc. Is he moving…[Read more]

jerseygirl replied to the topic I think my unspayed doe is nesting! in the forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A 6 years, 5 months ago
I agree, they do still have a form of companionship when set up in spaces side by side. I do hate to suggest separating rabbits, but Im not sure how you can prevent him humping her. With desexed pairs, this may still occur and it’s not a problem if it doesnt cause fighting, but with Hopper, it can trigger false pregnancies because rabbits are…[Read more]

Did I make a mistake with how long the bonding session was? Should I have let Freddie hump Coal? I’m not sure if this session went well or not. At this point, they don’t seem to be fighting over anything except who will be the new dominant bunny. Will that eventually work itself out, or is it possible they will keep fighting about who is the dom…

Thank you for the advice! That’s really helpful. I feel like a worrying mum 😂. Should I be brushing him more during this time? At the moment we brush him once a week.

If you don’t mind the sound of him gnawing on wood, edging the litterbox with some wood as suggested sounds like a good idea to try. There are those wooden hay rays that have place you sit a litterbox in but I think they’d cost a pretty penny and likely be too big for the condo. Maybe you can find a crate slightly larger then the box that it c…[Read more]

Such a beauty! My heart hurts you were separated when she when but it does seem that Bertha did things Bertha’s way. I know it difficult when an older bun is approaching their time, trying to guage how they are and what they need. It’s often is a day by day, moment by moment scenario. Fact is, she was doing better when you went away. Its al…[Read more]

Rabbits dont have padded feet, so the only thing that protects their feet is the fur. The fur can get worn away from the heels, exposing the skin. It’s great that you are seeing hair growing out.
This is something to keep a close eye on, because if the skin breaks, it can become a nasty wound that needs vet care. This condition is known as…[Read more]

Not at present! It’s been rather peaceful here at home.
He has always had a habit of grooming her, just never seen this happen before. He is always around her eyes and face.

Hi all, I’ve had my rabbit for about a year and a half now and she’s been very healthy.
I just noticed today when she was cleaning herself that the bottom of her left front paw has a sort of bald patch on it. It looks light pinkish and seems to have little short hairs of fur growing on it (it’s also quite medium sized, not a small bump. More…[Read more]

So, I’m new to binky bunny and don’t know if this is the right place to write this, if it’s wrong I’m sorry. I have 2 bonded bunnies, Buddy (boy) and Bella (girl). I’m pretty sure Bella is getting sore hocks. Her hocks look red and chapped . She doesn’t show signs of being in pain, and I don’t know how she could have got them because in their pen…[Read more]

No strange sounds recently? Even sounds that seem harmless and we wouldn’t give a second thought can set a rabbit off. Construction, drilling, fireworks… speaking from experience here. LOL
