I have been observing her for about two weeks now. When i first noticed the decrease in hay intake, i gave her some simethicone for about two days, and then i stopped after seeing normal size poop. Normal size poop would indicate not gas, right?
Her major hay(99%) comes from SmallPetSelect (been the same hay since she was a baby). I also supply…[Read more]

Hmmm, I’m not sure… but rabbits do hide their symptoms so well that maybe? The other symptoms you describe sound like she is in some pain. Sounds like she could be having some gas pain? You could try giving her a tummy rub and simethicone to see if she perks up. If it is gas, moving around (and binkying) will help.
Has she completely stopped…[Read more]

I made a NIC cube condo for my bunnies and they love it. It’s a good option for if you want to maximize floor space as well (you can build up instead of out). I think they honestly like having their own spot (no hoomins allowed!), even though they get free-roam when we’re home. So don’t feel guilty!
There are a ton of very elaborate versions…[Read more]

Is it possible for rabbit to binky if they are in pain (subtle/mild)? My rabbit has been acting very strange, lost of appetite, breathing heavier, sometimes look tense or hunch a bit. But she still binky! 😕

I know a little too well the affects of well-meaning caregivers offering too many treats. 🙄

You could put her in a large dog pen. This is what I keep my rabbits in! I know it isn’t ideal, but it’s what I have to do. I also have my bunnies in my room and it works good for me! 🙂

Hi! Free roam isn’t always the best choice especially if it’s not the safest, and not conducive to you both living happily ever after. As long as she has plenty of space for exercise and lots of attention, she can be perfectly happy in an enclosure.
I’ve had great success with these panels: https://www.amazon.com/Tespo-Playpen-Portable-Plastic-Tra…[Read more]

Hello,
So I have had Nibbles as completely free roam in my bedrooms since I got her (almost 5 years ago). But due to some complications at my new apartment (mostly behavioral related), I need to keep her in a cage or something. There are too many things she is destroying that I can’t afford to replace so I need to have her in a confined area. I…[Read more] -

DanaNM replied to the topic Bunnies ate candy wrapper! HELP in the forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A 6 years, 5 months ago
Bunnies sure have a way of getting into things! Were those candy or gum? I think candy?
If candy, the main thing I would worry about would be tummy upset from the sugar. Eating plastic isn’t great, but with that small amount I don’t think there is a huge risk of blockage. Were there other little pieces of wrapper around too? If so, they might…[Read more]

Hey! Thank you so much for answering back. Kale is actually free roam, his litter box is changed probably once a day or once every two days. I think it might’ve been from excess cecotrophs, maybe clogged sweat glands too. I’ve noticed that it doesn’t seem like he does a good job at grooming himself unfortunately.

Hi there, welcome 🙂
Was the poopy butt from excess cecotropes? Sometimes care givers give too many treats which can cause the soft extra poop problem. Or unclean cage conditions? Or could it be clogged scent glands?
A bum bath might be a good idea and should help. Def important to clean him up so he doesn’t get fly strike. This video has a…[Read more]

I’d maybe look into a vet check if possible.
Sometimes rabbits act up because they are in pain, or there is an underlying health condition. Abnormal litter habits are usually a good sign something is up, and id really recommend looking into it.
If nothing is found at the vet and hes given the all clear, you may be witnessing spring fever. One of…[Read more]

Oh my god those kittens are KILLING me! Too cute to cope with it.
Aye Nub is such a gorgeous bunny, he’s going to make someone incredibly happy (he makes me laugh every day with his shenanigans) I’m hoping I’ll be able to keep in contact but as long as its a good home is all that really matters! (although he’s not had any real intrest since…[Read more]

Beau Bunny replied to the topic Ideas for obsessive litter box chewing and digging in cage corner in the forum HABITATS AND TOYS 6 years, 5 months ago
I put a single bottle wine box filled with hay in front of my litter box…you could drill holes and attach it to the front? Or depending on the size of your litter box, you could put the whole thing inside a wine crate. Check your local wine store, I’m sure you could score one for free.
Bonus: if you like wine, drink the wine and repurposed…[Read more]
