Bedding? Or litter for the litter box? Rabbits do not need bedding. If you want something soft, you can use fleece to line their enclosure. As for the litter box, pine pellets (Feline Pine, Equine Pine, etc) or wood stove pellets are acceptable. Paper products like Yesterday’s News or Carefresh are also acceptable.
Do not use pine or cedar…[Read more]

Hello again,
I live in New Zealand and the only bedding provided here are aspen and pine, and they’re both from the brand called Kaytee. Other small websites do sell Carefresh bedding, but I’m worried because I’m not sure if they’re really safe to buy from. Plus the bedding that they sell is quite expensive.

Wick & Fable replied to the topic How to get rabbit to eat hay in the forum DIET & CARE 6 years, 4 months ago
Dana has given great advice. Some other things I can think of (with some being repeated) would be:
- If you find he likes certain types of hay (whether it’s meadow vs. timothy, or fluffy bits of timothy vs. stalky bits of timothy), really lean into that. Wick, one of my rabbits, only eats timothy hay. He also likes the stalky bits the best, so I…

I was worried about that as i said i have a child and she can be very loud but they hear her in the garden everyday so they should be used to it! I was thinking to get a big tray for the area so its easier to clean, im hoping when i get them spayed they will be easier to litter train!

I was thinking that too. They seemed very pushy about getting it done soon but I can’t see that going well. She’s so small and sweet. She was actually the runt so when I got her and she didn’t want to be around the other bunnies which I thought was great because she’s a solo bun anyway. Now she rules my house and cant even think about adding…[Read more]

I agree with Dana that waiting a month or two would most likely be harmless. It may ensure she is fully developed enough for an effective spay and give her body a chance to become more resilient, regardless of a heart murmur or not.

Them going inside is fine! Something to remember is that it is a new environment, and with that may come stress. They will hear sounds and smells they may never have been exposed to, so be on the lookout for how the transition may affect them.
Also, because it’s a novel territory, do not be surprised if there is a lot of pooping and peeing in the…[Read more]

In that case I would keep them separated until a month after the second bun has been fixed and then start the bonding process. 🙂

It’s great that you’re considering bringing them indoors. They will be much happier and safer there. I say go for it! 🙂

No, my other one is too small to get fixed yet and yes I swapped out toys and litter boxes. Thank you so much for all the advice

I somehow managed to get a pic but it’s not letting me upload it. I click “add media” and then “select file” and change my image size but when I click “done” it disappears.
