Overall he’s been drinking and eating a ton, along with pooping so it doesn’t seem like he’s in any pain that’s why I was unsure if it’s a dental problem or something else.

His meds were for antibiotics, stasis, and inflammation. He did lose a molar as well which he isn’t used to. I’ve noticed that he has had more of a wet chin since the meds but he’s also drinking a lot more water. It doesn’t sound like he is in any pain drinking water and he did just start eating a lot more hay than he’s ever done before which I…[Read more]

This is a difficult question! My bun has chronic stasis too, she had it like 6 times in 6 months (vet bills are killing us)! Despite the excellent diet she’s on, low stress life, she’s just super prone to it. And it just happens randomly.
My rabbit-savvy vet just put her on 30 days of randitadine and sucralfate for a suspected ulcer, but…[Read more]

Hi all,
I posted earlier about my bunny Daisy who had a suspected ulcer, and is currently on ranitadine and sucralfate for treatment. My vet suspected this because she keeps getting stasis. She was doing fine until the other day when she had pain again. After pain relief (meloxicam), she started looking bright again. My rabbit-savvy vet and she…[Read more]

Oh, so young! Sleep tight, little one.
They are notoriously difficult to raise on the bottle. I wouldnt think it was anything you did. I know it’s still so upsetting when they dont make it after you’ve invested so much time and care into them. x

Given he has dental problems, Im guess this could be because he’s drooling. Since he has recently seen the vet, prehap you can call them and report the latest development? I read in your other thread that he had finished the meds he was on. Was this for pain relief? Have you noticed the wet chin since he stopped the meds? The vet could give some…[Read more]

He sounded like a wonderful little rabbit and Im so very sorry you lost him this way. It sounds like you’ve been hard on yourself. It was not within your control. I do hope writing this tribute and sharing about Zeus gives you some closure.
Your bond with him sounds much like the one I had with my first rabbit. Your pizza story made me smile. I…[Read more]

I never fully accepted Zeus’s passing, and remembered him like I should have. I didn’t talk about it, I didn’t give him the proper attention after the fact. I was too ashamed that I couldn’t keep an animal alive, and deeply saddened that I let such a fragile life slip through the cracks. But I miss my Zeus, and I regret not honoring him. So…[Read more]

“I know in the grand scheme of things, with a global pandemic going on, and people losing loved ones every day, the loss of a little bun does not seem much in comparison, but my heart has completely broken.”
Aw no, don’t say that. She is a loved one too! I’m finding the furbabies are so important during this time. I’m so very sorry it was…[Read more]

@Hazel, it seems to be happening to a few members so it’s been reported. Fingers crossed it will be working again soon.
Not sure what happened to Beau’s post. Did it have a hyperlink in it? We’re learning as we go but it appeared even long time members were needing posts approved if they added links. I do not know if that is still the case…
It…[Read more]

There seems to be a glitch happening with the Add Media. We’ve reported it so hopefully it will be fixed soon! In the meantime, are you able to add photos to your profile album? If you can do that, you can open photo there and save the URL, then pop that link into your post.

When I initially replied, I did not realize this was a 10 day old baby bunny. I must have missed that somewhere. I’m so sorry for you loss. It sounds like you were doing you best to hand raise this baby. Unfortunately, you had a lot of things working against you since babies are extremely difficult to hand raise. So many things can go wrong and…[Read more]

Hi everyone.
I’ve had a very sad few days after losing my baby Blossom on 10.05.2020 at the fine old age of 10 and half years old.
She has been my rabbit since I was eleven years old, and has been with me for almost half of my life. We were so closely bonded, with her often coming to sit on my lap, or eat out of my hands, and often at the…
