Pand was beautiful!
I’m so sorry you lost her. It’s so hard. I think you did all you could possibly have done. We cant have our rabbits checked for every possible ailment unless they’re showing symptoms. As we all know, rabbits hide illness extremely well. As soon as you knew something was up, you acted. I’m sorry the meds didnt give her more…[Read more]

Well, here we are again… After being unwell the past 2 weeks, being diagnosed finally and unfortunately with an enlarged heart and a leaking heart valve (racking up on over 3k of bills), improving in the last couple of days being on her heart medication and only just coming home from a checkup to get the all clear my beloved Pand (7 year old)…[Read more]

I’m so sorry, Panditzer. You did all you could do. I’m sorry the meds didn’t buy her more time. Thank you for being a wonderful bunny parent to her 💔
If you like to you can make a Rainbow Bridge post for her in our RB-section. Sometimes it helps a little bit with the grieving-process.

Do you have the own lawn or a friend with a grass yard? If you just rip handfuls of grass out and you know that you’re taking it from somewhere that hasn’t been sprayed with anything it would be good for him to have a little something to replace the hay. If you can get grass seeds somewhere you can also grow some grass for him inside the house in…[Read more]

pinkiemarie replied to the topic Is hay for litterbox safe? in the forum DIET & CARE 6 years, 4 months ago
Just make sure you add fresh hay a few times per day so they always have clean pieces. They won’t eat the dirty ones and to be honest it’s normal avg healthy for rabbits to eat some “special” poops every day so for them, it’s fine. I wouldn’t choose to eat out if my toilet myself but hey, I’m not a bunny! You could also get one of those little…[Read more]

Just testing Jersey’s suggestion for adding photos, and it works great! Here’s Leo being his curious self.
@DanaNM that photo is adorable! And the caption you added made me smile – it looks like your buns found a new piece of “furniture” lol.
@Hazel – That pose, OMG! 😀 your rabbit is gorgeous!

Fingers crossed for Theo! I’m glad his teeth are fine. Hopefully this round of meds will get him back on track. If this is in any way related to arthritis/joint pain, the metacam would help against that too.

It sounds like he has been used to greens then.
I think what i’ll do is keep the greens really basic and then slowly introduce them?
It couldnt hurt to try…
What typically happens when he has had these episodes? How does he act?

Hey! thanks so much for getting back to me 🙂
When he was at the rescue he was on pretty basic salad mix and cos lettuce, and the type of litter I use is the recycled paper pellet type things (can’t remember the name lol) I’ve never caught him eating though my litter box is like completely full of hay. I’m pretty sure it is the same one they…[Read more]

<p style=”padding-left: 40px;”>The change in him overnight has been immense – no bitten poop in his cage this morning and soooo many binkies on his morning runaround – hopefully it continues!!</p>
Oh, that’s great. 🙂 Yes, lets hope it continues! -

Your profile photo is too cute! They are good at flopping and napping like that. had a lop the same colour as Monty.
His diet sounds great but there is always a chance there is something in there (even if healthy) that he is not reacting well too. Do you recall what Monty was eating before adoption?
What type of litter does he have? Do you ever…[Read more]

I will preface this with I have no current photos as my phone broke and I haven’t downloaded everything to my new phone yet. I only have one of my puppy that I will post.
I don’t know what the last thing I posted was so I apologize if I repeat anything.

Hey guys 🙂
This is my first time posting here but have been consulting the forums heaps.
In November last year I adopted my bunny, Monty from a local shelter he’s a 2.5 year old mini lop and has been an awesome addition.
He had his first bout of stasis in late January this year and since then there’s been 4-5 stasis episodes.
The first…[Read more]
